The church is a commited people who allow God's presence and work to be expressed in the world through them,so that a watching world is brought to Him.The church serves Christ as the Holy Spirit empowers them. The church lives as Christ lives in its worship and service so that members experience God at work in the body through the lives of other members. The chruch goes to work as they see where God is at work;they join Him in His redemptive mission so He alone gains the glory. The body is not complete without all the God-given members. The chruch is interested first in being God's people in the image of Christ;only then can the church do God's work. The love relationship each member has with God means the church is concerned above all to demonstrate God's love to the world.God pursues the same love relationship with the church that He pursues with individuals.
A fresh encounter:The church experiences God together in corporate worship.God wants His church to be holy and pure,to display unity, and to love each other.

In my opinion, people who attend church are looking for one of three things,
a loving atmosphere to worship and learn in,
recognition for the fact that they are involved in a church,
or a social outlet to meet people.
The church should be instrumental in initiating help for the homeless and less fortunate all around the world- and most of them are - it's the people that distort "church."
People can't control other people - despite what the "church" believes.
My suggestion is that we ALL realize we came from the same place from the same being and learn to take care of each other instead of judge one another.

Ultimately, to recognize that the whole religion thing is a fraud. But, short of that, the Church would do well to clean up its act with respect to sexuality; its present approach is not just wrong -- it is criminally stupid: people die from following the Church's diktats.

They need to start paying taxes. Some of the preachers need to stop acting like they can do no wrong. Some of the parishioners need to stop treating their preachers like they can do no wrong, and behaving like non-believers are the collective anti-christ.
And they need to stop letting people with no singing talent get up and SING. This is why American Idol is full of some really awful singers. (That and karaoke bars).

To return to her first love. Too many have strayed away from why we go to church. That shouldn't scare away anyone.

Be like Jesus prayed they should be in John 17. Have so much love for each other regaurdless of their differences that people say "Look at how they love one another, I want what they got!"
