My Boyfriend has his pierced, and he loves it (well so do I for that matter). He hasn't had any problems with his teeth like some people say that you do, and it doesn't bother him at all. He did have to sort of re-learn how to chew food though.

I liked mine at first, but after a few years I just took it out.
It didn't hurt at all, but it got in the way when I was eating. It takes a while to keep it balanced when you are chewing.
Now that I have had it out already 3 years, I still have a bit of a scar under my tongue from it (it looks like a boil or something) but that was the piercers fault, not every tongue piercing does that.
And I don't beleive the nonsense about kissing, it only got in the way and would hit my teeth, which is VERY irritating, and it can cause enamel damage.
I also took out my labret because it was messing up my gums.

I personally love my tongue piercing. It didn't really hurt having it done and if I had to I would do it again. Obviously it will feel weird at first but after a while you will get used to it.
For some people the most annoying stage is while it is healing because it can swell. However as long as you follow the piercers guidelines to keeping it clean you should have no worries. Also if your a smoker try and cut down on the cigarettes as this and spicy food can slow down the healing process.

I had my tongue pierced for a while, at first you talk funny because your tongue is all swollen, after the swelling goes down some words may come out sounding like daffy duck, but eventually you get use to it, then you start to talk normal. And then it becomes a real attention getter, I loved it and considering doing it again, I took it out because of a job I was working at the time. All in all I think you'll like it!! Minimal pain, over in seconds.

I love my tongue pierced and it didn't hurt all that much. I think it is worth it. It is going to be hard to eat and talk for the first week or so, that might get annoying and uncomfortable, but It's fun to play with after the healing process (about 4 weeks). You will get used to it. You have to make sure you clean it (with diluted mouthwash) after every time you eat, just in case their is food stuck around it.

I have had it for about 7 yrs, I love it. I barely know it's there. I have chip a tooth or two by biting down on it and swallowed a few balls (haha). Every year or so I take it out in an attempt to be grown up. But I come to my wits and put it back in. I took it out for a whole year and when I put it back it, the hole hadn't even attempted to close up. Yes it hurt, but it's been so long, I forgot how much it did. I talk with a lisp now and I can't whistle aymore, lol. But I never was good at talking or whistling anyway. Its a very good flirt tool. Just look at somebody and play with it, it's a good turn on. :P

Im 23 and Ive had mine for 5 years. I love mine. Getting it done doesnt hurt worse than your navel. The swelling and soreness lasts for a few days afterwards. Avoid spicy food for a few days. Just remember to brush your teeth and mouthwash after eating. Mine never got infected *even now it doesnt and I dont do anything special for it* My teeth are not chipped. The first few weeks are awkward because you have to get used to it when you talk and eat. Tongue rings are pretty common now and no one will look at you and wonder about your oral hygiene or sexual practices.. lol. I love mine and my husband loves his. Go for it. :)

I wouldn't get mine done again. The person who did it hit a nerve that is still damaged from 5 years ago. I don't have the same sensitivity on my tongue that I did before and I have bump where the hole was. Not very nice. Plus, my teeth are chipped from playing with it. If you want to get it done, its up to you. The pain isn't that bad getting it done. Just remember that even a very reputable professional can make a mistake and hit a nerve. Its not worth it.

It doesn't hurt. I have my tongue pierced and it's just fine. Your tongue will be swollen for the first week when you get it done so you won't be able to eat much, but then it'll be fine. It does get in the way when your eating, but you'll get used to it!!!
