She is an artist/designer and brought over a picture she drew me, as well as a poster she made that has her name and email on it.

She told me to put them up. Do you think she is kinda marking her territory?

I have a theory that some people are able to feel more comfortable in an environment that is not "their own" if there is at least a familiar object in the area. For example, a friend of mine brought over a painting to my house and requested that I hang it up. He divulged much later to me that he feels more at ease and comfortable in an environment where he has "left pieces of himself".

Women are tricky creatures, so you may never really know her motivation behind asking such, but even if she was "marking" you, that would be a pretty ineffective way, since anyone could have given you those, like an aunt, a friend, etc, you could have even bought it.

She shouldn't HAVE to mark her territory in reality, it is your job to ensure no one crosses the line, but thats just my opinion.

Last but not least, most artists really want to have their works be accepted by others and they really feed on the praise/feedback given from others. So if you do hang it up, and if you have a friend make a compliment on it, let her know!

You should be proud whether or not your worried some other would find you a player. Weird fella, art costs money. A guy is allowed to have friends, right. Artists advertise their work, so if others like it they can call.
