During the funeral of john paul II, they brought a person up to the podium to peform what is called the litany of the saints. After about 5 minutes of this I got to thinking. You know what? This sort of reminds me of that old school bus song we used to sing when we took field trips back in grade school. Remember this one? 99 bottles of beer on the wall 99 bottles of beer, take one down pass it around 98 bottles of beer on the wall. Anyone know that one? Well to me thats what the litany sort of reminded of when I heard it. And Im not saying this to offend catholics, God have mercy on em. But I say it because I think its really relevant. Because it shows just how drunk they are with the blood of the saints. Read Revelation 17 in light of the litany and you might begin to see how I came to this conclusion

Yes, I've heard it, and I've prayed it. It is very beautiful. It in no way reminds me of "99 Bottles".

Omnes Sancti et Sanctae Dei, intercedite pro nobis!

It is very sad that you liken the litany of the saints to the 99 bottles of beer on the wall song. It is truly sad that you do not recognize the huge community of believers that include those that have led pious and holy lives.

If I were you, I would seriously consider who I was being influenced by in order to come up with such irreverence for God and His holy ones.

No, the Catholic Church is not drunk with the blood of the saints. That refers to the Roman Empire that persecuted and killed the early Christians. Those Christians are honored by the present day Catholic Church when we pray the litany of the saints.

Your comments do not offend or anger me. They make me feel very, very sad for you because you do not see the beauty and nobleness of those who have gone before us, mark with the sign of faith and are now at rest.

Peace be with you.

People such as yourself interpret scripture as the Pharisee`s interpreded and distorted the law of Moses, you have a deep seated dislike of the Roman Catholic church and yet you know so little about this church that Christ founded on St,Peter and which the gates of Hell will never prevail against, unless you can find a way to divide the body of Christ and state that the Protestant divisions are one body which they certainly are not.

Making fun of the Saints, who spent their lives dedicated to God, isn't a nice thing. :(
