There is budding relationship potential between me and a guy. However, he's far away for the time being, so most of our communication is via email or telephone.

I'm not an incredibly busy person. I don't go out a ton. 99% of the time, I pick up when he calls. I rarely miss his calls. Does that send him the message that I am a bit too eager? Am I being "too available" (is there such a thing)?

Part of me says, "Look, you're 21-- grow up. You're overthinking this, now stop being such a girl!" And yet I wonder...

Wait a minute here...

You like this guy, and you actually answer when he calls?? Can't you be kicked out of the woman sorority for that sort of thing?

Answering is a good thing, guys can't stand the stupid little games and posturing and playing 'hard to get'.

Well if he knows that you rarely go out he should know why you always pick up your phone. If your really worried about it, try being the first to end the conversation, or when he calls wait for a certain period of time before calling back. The way I honestly see it is it shouldn't matter, if you want to talk to him talk....it doesn't matter if you answer your phone every time you guys talk....if he have a problem with that...them he has a problem....go with the thought that you are 21...so those pity things shouldn't matter

As long as he is calling you regularly I would say no but if he calls 3 or 4 times a day... don't pick up all 3 or 4 times.

Yes, unfortunately. It is. Men like a bit of challenge. The guy I dated told me that as his reason for losing interest so it may not be PC to admit and many men will deny it but... It's still true. Read "He is not that into you" by Greg Behrendt.

Hi Toby here from New York giving you my modest input on your question. No it does not mean you are too eager, You are just there answering a phone call. He is making an effort to call you , and not answering all his calls, it would not make you more desirable. Trust me, your availability is appreciated by him. And not him, nor anyone else, would ever think that you are too easy. Therefore keep staying on the same path and your relationship, I am sure is destined to blosom maybe even sooner than you think. Good luck my dear.

This may be the reason that he likes you so much but sometimes so don't stop being available you might want him to be available the same way so SMILE and stand by his side

No, it's not a turn-off when someone picks up the phone. It's a turn-off if they are too clingy, demanding, persistent or possessive. Hope this helps.

start doing more things with friends, or even just don't pick up once in a while, it's really not hard, and yes, some guys get bored if there's absolutely no "chase" or no competition for you

You're just showing him that he matters to you. Only a bum would think it's a bad thing to answer the phone [no offense, I mean the bum who gave the first answer]

-^^- If you're happy to hear from him, let him know!

No, you can't be too availbale. But, if he skips weekends and his free time to hangout with his friends and excludes you. Then, he doesn't give a **** about you. If you do that to him. Same thing.
