I am 16 and I weigh 129. I know I'm not fat, but I have fat on my body that I don't want. My body fat percentage is really high for someone my age. I don't care about my weight, just my fat percentage. I have fat on my waist, hips, and thighs that I want to get rid off. I know you can't lose fat in a certain spot, but like what kind of foods should I eat. Should I cut calories? What kind of exercise? What exactly makes you lose fat? What is condsidered eating healthier? Does cutting protions really help? What can help me get rid of my fat without getting like a bulky with muscles? I just want to be skinnier all over. I know nothing about dieting or losing weight. Please help me. haha

I know you hear this everywhere, but the one most effective way to lose fat is by exercising and reducing the amount of fat in your diet.

Any aerobic exercise or cardio will help you burn calories (and fat) quickly. Contrary to what you may have heard elsewhere, be sure to consume carbs about an hour or two before you do cardio. If you don't have enough carbohydrates in your diet, your body will run out of energy from fat and will start to use energy from protein/muscle (which is exactly the opposite of what you want to happen!). I always have some fruit about an hour before my work-out, and then a protein shake after my work-out. (If you don't have any protein shakes just lying around, you can drink a glass of milk instead. It has just as much protein!).This is what my personal trainer recommended and it has worked wonders for me.

If you do not have a gym membership but you do have stairs you can jog up and down for 20 minutes 3 times a week, this would be an excellent way for you to lose fat and tone your hips and thighs! For your stomach, here is a great workout that I actually practice a few times a week: http://fitsugar.com/120602

As for eating more healthfully, I would just recommend eating more natural and organic foods. You do not necessarily need to choose foods that are low in calories, but you should consider choosing foods that are low in fat. Fruits and vegetables are naturally delicious and provide vitamins your body will use as fuel when you exercise. :-) Ooh, eggs are also excellent for helping you build lean muscle. I have started making scrambled eggs with one whole egg and 2 or 3 egg whites. I just beat them together, add some salt and pepper, cook, and enjoy! Egg whites have only about 15 calories each and are 100% fat free! Plus, they've got 3 grams of protein (each)...and they're tasty of course.

Best of luck!!

Exercise. A combination of cardio and strength training is the best. You'll notice your weight go up the more you exercise, but that is because the fat is slowly being replaced by muscle, and muscle weighs considerably more then fat.

the obvious, diet and exercise. you can only exercise so much though, which is why your diet is just as important. make sure you run for no less than 30 minutes, and that your diet is evenly throughout the day (4-6 meals a day)
