Well, since very little of a Nascar car is actually a Ford, Chevy or Toyota... I don't see what there is to complain about. For the most part they are made of sheet metal attached to a cage on wheels. The engines aren't even built by the auto manufactures.

I know. I'm not sure why NASCAR went from only American cars to Toyotas. It seems a little silly, too, in my opinion. NASCAR used to be all about American cars, and then they make this strange little turn with the Toyota cars. However, I can keep an open mind. In a sense, the cars don't matter too much...the racing is still the old racing it used to be. And the Toyotas aren't doing any better or worse than the other American cars, so it's not like there is hypocracy going on or something. I don't necessarily mind the cars, but I also am not sure why NASCAR did it. We are just going to have to put up with it and still love the sport anyway. It's easy for me to do that!

Hey you can still argue they are American, first of all they are just put together in foreign countries. That doesn't mean the actual parts for the cars are made outside the US.
Secondly Ford and GM have more American employees then Toyota....(not sure about Chrysler though) in fact GM has about 5 to 1 ratio of American Employees compared to Toyota (Motor Trend). So just cause the the place of final assembly is in foreign countries doesn't make the cars "Not American".

Wendell Scott gained a NASCAR race a lengthy time period in the past. there has been black NASCAR drivers with Wendell Scott and maximum those days bill Lester. There are some solid black drivers arising the series now. Darrell Wallace Jr will race contained in the nationwide series for Joe Gibbs this 12 months. NASCAR has the stress for variety to help get blacks, females and Hispanics contained in the series.

All sports have changed- not just Nascar- Money, Money- makes the difference. Football use to be my favorite sport but now that money has become such a big thing in it, it's not like it use to be.
Oh! But For The Good Old Days. It was nice back then wasn't it.??If you are too young to remember then you don't know what you missed.

It still is--Toyota Camry's are made in Georgetown, Kentucky. If you want all-American you'd have to eliminate Ford and Chevy--the Fusion is made in Hermosillo, Mexico, the Chevy Monte Carlo is made in Oshawa, Ontario, the Chevy Impala is made in Valencia, Venezuela and Oshawa, Ontario, and the Dodge Charger is made in Brampton, Ontario.
So it looks NASCAR should be using the Dodge Avenger and Toyota Camry if people want American made cars only.

I remember when teams got their iron from Detroit. And the cars were built to look like the showroom cars.(My favorite was the '67 dodge charger)
I remember when the fastest cars raced because they quailifed and did not get a "free pass" in the race.
