In an effort to protect her i would knock him out, then i might sever every tendon in his body that i could get to, and if she requested it i would also make him blind deaf and/or mute... For her peace of mind, of course. Then i would call the cops.

The best thing a guy or anyone could do would be to call the police. However the girl won't leave the situation until she is ready. I don't put up with men beating me up, but some women go back for more and more, they are almost as sick as the guys. Call the police and get a paper trail started on the man, and hopefully the woman would be able to get out, she may get some counseling or at the very least, she'll get a break from it while the bas$#%% is in jail. Beating the guy up will only make the situation worse, and possible get everyone involved in trouble... I wish someone had called the cops for me when i was SCREAMING at the top of my lungs the last time my ex tried (and almost succeded) to kill me..... but no one did, I luckily managed to get away and call them myself and I've never looked back.

First I would ask a simple question; what has happened here? Is this a show, part of an ACT? is this reality? If people were as humane, civilized and kind as they claim; them this transaction would never take place in public. Secondly, if they have endured each others company, a number of years, habit now becomes the norm, to both. However if the situation is genuine, the first assault would have never have taken place; if you get my meaning. At the onset of raised voices, TRUE men step to, and disarm such situations. Have you been missing real men?
There are so few of us around anymore; having been destroyed by females who claim to be real women; but in reality are children playing games. Which is the reason why REAL Men, don't go to places where men hit Women, and REAL Women don't got out with men who hit Women. and consequently, Real Women don't provoke Real men into hitting them; while Men don't needlessly provoke Real Women; and all arguments are civilized and conducted at home. Only animals quarrel in public. If neither sex causes Violence, no Violence is done.
No woman has ever been struck in my presence; EVER!

It depends, I saw a guy hit a girl once and the girl got mad at me when I said something, she told me to; "shut up and mind my own business." So now I figure I'm not going to say anything unless she is crying out for help.

I would stand in the front the girl and say to the guy who hit her if you want to hit her again then you will have to hit me first but if you don't want do that then you can just walk away and leave this girl alone.

Call the police and hang around to make sure she was not going to be beat more. If so, then I would step in to protect her. Once a hitter, always a hitter.
