People think gay marriage is bad of outdated religious superstitions. They ignore global warming because of politcians telling them it's OK. They are against abortions because of outdated religious superstitions.

Well, you certainly bring in alot of different questions into one little section. This may take a little bit to answer.

Gay marriage -- In Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, Homosexuality isn't accepted as a moral act. All three use verses in the Old Testament or Torah that say that homosexuality is a sin. (Leviticus 18:22) It is also referenced in the first chapter of the book of Romans in the New Testament. It is seen that God instituted the act of marriage between a man and woman only. Many people see gay marriage as destroying the institution of marriage. I am not saying that I agree with this opinion; however, this is the case. Many Christians still believe that this country was based on Christian beliefs and believe that it's an insult to the founding fathers if we allow something that is against Christianity. Some people actually do believe that society will be worse because of it. Some people think pastors will be forced to accept homosexuality and preach that at the pulpit as well as marry gay couples.

Global Warming -- There are some people that simply don't believe it exists. It is the same people that really don't believe in science at all. They believe that science and faith don't mix whatsoever. They simply don't believe that human emissions of fossil fuels and other gases have done any damage to the earth. It also angers those people that don't believe in it because there are taxes being used to control the emissions that they don't believe is a problem in the first place. They believe it is a waste of money.

Abortions -- Abortion is seen as murder of a life. The debate is really with the question of when life truly begins. For those that are against abortion, life begins with conception. To abort a fetus in the womb, doesn't mean that it's any less a life than a infant that is born months later. For them, it is still a life. Also, along the lines of the gay marriage debate, many believe that it is against God; therefore, under the idea that the United States is based on the teachings of God, then something that is against God shouldn't be allowed in this country. Your question deals with making a mistake. No matter how much protection someone uses, if someone has sex, there is always a chance that the girl can get pregnant. If it is consenual, it maybe something the couple regrets, but it's not something that they couldn't know would happen. Abortion isn't a form of birth control. That is also what many people have a problem with. Parents have a problem with laws that allow children to get abortions without the parent knowing what is going on. Some parents believe they are losing their kids and this isn't helping at all. Abortions shouldn't be used without some serious, serious thought. If someone doesn't want a child, there is always adoption. There are couples that cry at night because they cannot have a child for one reason or another. A child is a gift. There are laws that allow someone to drop a child off within 72 hours at a safe place without any questions asked.

In my own opinion, this country wasn't founded on christian beliefs, and we are given freedom of religion. We have seperation of church and state and shouldn't give preference to one religion's beliefs. I don't agree with gay marriage, but I don't agree with saying that someone cannot married because I don't like the idea. There are some straight couples that I think shouldn't have EVER been married, but I don't have a right to stop them. Why should I force my religion's beliefs on a country when everyone isn't that religion? I don't think that's fair. I do think global warming is real and we need to start taking responsibility for what we do to this world. We need to start being more environmentally responsible or we will lose the very place we call home. I don't think abortion should be used as a form of birth control. I don't think it should be outlawed because there are medical reasons why someone needs to abort a fetus when the child's life or the mother's life is in serious danger. I don't think it's a choice that needs to be made without serious thought. It's a hard choice. I do think that adoption needs to be an option for people that simply do not want to have a child at that time.

Hope that answers your questions!!

I can't speak to gay marriage. I'm too conflicted on the subject.

Global warming is the direct result of our not taking care of the earth. If we don't start changing our habits, our children and following generations are going to be in real trouble.

People make mistakes but that does not mean that an innocent life must be stopped before it can start. You make a choice every time you have sex that there might be a pregnancy. If that is something you can't deal with, don't have sex or get surgically sterilized.

Marriage is suppost to be between a man and a woman.
I believe abortion is wrong because I believe that a baby is a baby at conception. The bible says God knew you before he formed you in the womb. Its murder. Everyone makes mistakes yes. But you have choices choices to have sex or not, use a condom, take birth control, even take the morning after pill. You can get it at CVS from what I hear. Why kill a baby after its already got a heart beat and formed?
The global warming I think God gave us a wonderful place to live and we did not take care of it now we are being punished.

To the contrary.

Evil exists because man violated and is opposite of God's spirtual law that governs the union of all eternal things.

The earth before the fall of man was harmonious. There was no global warming.

Because man is from the earth, when man inverted from eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, man corrupted the earth when they turned to dust, and thus corrupted every living thing that came from the earth - including the planet itself.

Because man has a free will, the choices of man's inverted free will that violates spiritual law such as when they commit murder through abortion, and pervert God's order through homosexuality and gay marriage, has continuously created this ripple affect that causes the human race to suffer.

Global warming is the natural cyle of the Earth and Al Gore is an idiot.
Abortion is killing a life. Life begins at conception. This has been proven by biology aka science..not religion.

People who are conservative generally are the ones that oppose gay marriage and abortion. They believe that certain things are against the teachings of god, and to not be against it is just as bad as sinning oneself. They believe that there should be one way of life, their way, and they want everybody to be more or less the same. They think because their way of life makes them happy, that this is true for everybody else. I think mainly they lack empathy.

before we look at gay marriage / same sex marriage, first we have to remember what the bible says about homosexuality. the bible clearly and consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin.

to give sanction to homosexual marriage would be to give approval to that lifestyle, which the bible clearly and consistently condemns as sinful. i believe that christians should stand firmly against the idea of gay marriage / same sex marriage. marriage is ordained by God to be between a man and a woman. homosexual marriage is a perversion of the institution of marriage and an offense to the God who created marriage. God forbids and condemns homosexuality, so he clearly is opposed to homosexual marriage.

as far as global warming, there is plenty of vague, short-sighted, and misunderstood data that can be seen as supporting global warming theory. christians ought to treat our world with respect and good stewardship, but we should not allow politically-driven hysteria to dominate our view of the environment.

the primary problem with extreme forms of environmentalism is that they reject the biblical concept that this current earth is not permanent. this world is not our eternal home. we are to be far more concerned with the salvation of souls than saving the earth
