Peas & beans both climb. Roses only scramble but even without attaching they use their prickles to get up trees. Akebia quinata, Boston Ivy, Virginia creeper, Wisteria sinensis and other spp,
My friend has a Kiwi, Actinidia kolomikta, that is big enough to cover a building.
Night blooming cereus, but it is easy to keep this pruned down however it is tender.
Passion flowers, jasmines, plumbago, and hydrangea petiolaris. There is even a climbing nasturtium.
