I'm a life-long Episcopalian, and I am very open-minded. I know there are some Christians who are very narrow in their views, but it isn't all of us. I think a lot of them are that way out of fear. They don't or can't understand something so it's easier to fear or hate it. By the way, I have a minor in philosophy so you could say that logic and reasoning have found their way into my life.

Hi,
It depends on what you mean by close minded. You make a very general statement and give no specifics. The word religion actually means way of life, so if you view religions as people doing things or living life a certain way, then it would seem everyone could be considered close minded from an opposing perspective.

Love has no room for logic and reason. If it hits you straight to your heart to know that it is true and changes your life for the better, then surely it came from God.

Unfortunately, they don't use logic and reasoning. They have their minds set on one course and one course only and they cannot see with such blinders on. Intelligence they may have, but use it they do not.

They may be intelligent in one small aspect, but they close their minds off to anything that goes against their beliefs.
We wouldn't want to get them to question their beliefs now would we?

Why are religious people so closed minded?
religion does that to people... especially when they get whack enough to pretend to know a god.

What's being closed minded? I'm Christian and I read everything, does that mean I'm supposed to accept everything as true? That doesn't make any sense. Once something is claimed as true, that makes other claims false.
