Ok, well I have an HP PSC 1610 All-In-One Printer/Scanner/Copier and everytime I scan something, only about an inch scans. I have tried the HP website and it didn't help. Only one inch off of each side scans and then there is a big black box for the rest. What is wrong with my scanner? How can I fix it? Please Help Me!

Have you tried adjusting the scan area in the scanning software? And adjust the scanning output size. Scanning software has Auto settings and Manual Settings. Use the manual settings to make these adjustments. It should allow you to scan just your object and no dead space, also increase the resolution to your desired output size.

it might be dirty, use compressed air on anything you can see without taking it apart.
