The mayors of the various cities and towns (San Francisco for example) prohibit the police from enforcing the law.

Also the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Julie Myers is totally incompentent and is deliberately keeping the agents from doing the job they want to do!

Write her at www.ice.gov and tell her to resign!!!!

We the people do. Vote out the idiots who will not allow the laws to be enforced. Vote for term limits so we don't end up with mentally incompetent cretins like Teddy Kennedy, Robert Byrd, and the late Jesse Helms. No more lifetime politicians.

The work of the police is to protect & serve the public, legal or illegal... It is not to question their presence.. unless the illegal immigrant is a safety threat to public, police should not question their citizenship..

Besides there is a whole federal branch set aside sorely to deal with immigration laws violations.

The main reason they're not arrested is because the law broken by them is insignificant.

All they did is walk into the country. At least 3/4 of them don't steal, murder, sell drugs, rape, burgle or drive drunk.

So the appropriate punishment is deportation. No jail time, maybe a small fine. That's it.

Law enforcement has priorities.

Ummmm, I don't know where you are getting your facts. They are arrested and deported. They are also beaten by crooked cops on the freeway in San Diego. Do you even know anything about this subject?
