I see alot of venom here and on you tube as well as other online sites. What's up with that? Do people have too much time on their hands. What motivates them to go out of their way to criticize and attack people of faith? And please don't tell me it's because they are so judgemental. MOST Christians (the majority of Americans) do feel some activity, like homosexuality, is a sin. Most also know that God is the judge of us all and we are not to judge eachother. Of course, we are free to vote in a way which is consistent with our beliefs, as does every other American. This is neither judgemental nor hateful. When people seek to change our society and laws, EVERY American has the right to influence the political system. Are some Christians and others of faith judgemental? Yes, as are some people in every group. So, why the hatred towards a whole group? Now, let's keep the venom to a minimum and try to learn about eachother.

Why is it hate to define an act as wrong for me? It is not. You like to call it hate so you can excuse your own hatred.
Also, I already stated that some people of faith are judgemental and critical.....just like there are people of every group like this. Do you hate every person in a group because you don't approve of the actions of some? Then you hate everyone.

Some people need to read a bit of history. Christians and the teaching of God WERE in the schools before they were out of the schools.

Simply and short:

Who is misleading the entire inhabited nations, yet the atheists and non-believers, and those who participate in false religions do not realize this?:

SATAN (the castoff)

Continued Opposition to God: By his challenge of God and his charging God’s servants with lack of integrity, Satan lived up to his title “Devil,” meaning “Slanderer,” which title he deserved for having slandered Jehovah God in the garden of Eden.

Continues to fight Christians. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, Satan continued to wage a bitter fight against Christ’s followers. The accounts in the book of Acts and in the letters of the Christian Greek Scriptures furnish numerous proofs of this. Paul said that he had been given “a thorn in the flesh, an angel of Satan, to keep slapping” him. (2Corinthians 12:7) And as in the case with Eve, Satan disguised his real nature and purposes by “transforming himself into an angel of light,” and he had agents, ministers who “also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness.” (2Corinthians 11:14, 15) Examples of these were the false apostles who fought against Paul (2Corinthians 11:13) and those in Ephesus ‘who said they themselves were Jews, and yet they were not but were a synagogue of Satan.’ (Revelations 2:9) Satan never ceased in making accusations “day and night” against Christians, challenging their integrity, as he did Job’s. (Revelations 12:10; Lu 22:31) But Christians have “a helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one,” who appears before the person of God in their behalf.—1John 2:1

He (SATAN) was cast out of the heavens with the other demons. Satan has only a “short period of time,” during which he makes war with “the remaining ones who observe the commandments of God and have the work of bearing witness to Jesus.” In his efforts to devour the remaining ones of the woman’s seed, he is called “the dragon,” a swallower or crusher. (Revelations 12:16, 17)

Also, many deny his existence because they are blinded by him. Interesting huh? Forgive them because they know not what they do, but don't mingle with them. "Do not be misled, bad associations spoil useful habits" -- 1 Corinthians 15:33. What a tough place to be when you don't even know you're being dragged around by a noose in your nose prone to do evil and taunt those who love Jehovah and follow his standards [not Satan's].

Don't worry, one day those that love Godly standards will never have to deal with the non-believers ever again, and what makes them so stupid is "they have enough emotion and hate to fill up these forums yet they know not where they get the gift of choice from to "feel" the way or act the way they do". Stupidity is destruction. Think about this too, only about 10% of the total earth's population will receive the gift of life after Armgeddon. You can clearly see by reading these forums that fact is very true. Those that love God won't have to deal with this garbage ever again one day, and by the looks of things, that day is not far off...don't fret, just keep up the GOOD FIGHT!

When a person has faith in Christ for example we have convinced ourselves by what we are taught that this is our understanding and excepted belief. We then wish to share it with others. We tend to think that ouur way is the correct way.
Sometimes our spiritual pride makes us less considerate of others. We seek answers that will support our belief and feel a need to offer the same truth to others. This is the same with those who don't believe. They feel a need to seek information to support their non- belief. They are convinced that belief in a God who we cannot see with our eyes is not there. They do not realize that all they see is of God. They either just don't care or they find ways to convince others they are wrong about the existance of God and will believe as they do. Some think they are so right that they go out of their way to disrupt or corrupt the existing religions through any means they can. When people become sarcastic and attack those who believe, it is my opinion that there is an influence from the dark side. A true believer of Nothing, would not bother trying to convince you. A person who has to through verble stones at Christianity or any other religion has not found security within themselves with their faith. They are just as closed minded as those Christians that think they have all the answers tied up in one book.
In man's judgement many things are a sin, including homosexuality. I will let that one to God to Judge. I have no right to. I do know that Love outweighs out judgements. Judge not less you be judged. We judge because we are taught to judge. I would sooner see a loving couple of men together than a hateful male /female couple together.
As it says in the bible. In heaven, we are all brothers and sisters. Sex is not an issue there. Just suppose procreation had nothing to do with life and homosexuality was excepted as normal. We would not even have a question of it.
I do not encourage homosexuality but I have a freind who is.
I also know a couple ministers who are. I Love them as I Love any other human being. What they do with their life is not my affair as long as they don't push it on me or harm others with it. I let God sort all that stuff out!

There are several things that Christians espouse that tick off everyone else:

This concept that there's some magic invisible line between the "saved" and the "unsaved". References to the mindless followers being "in the light" and everyone else being "in the darkness". How egotistical to think oneself better than others for believing something for which there's no evidence.

Claiming to know what "God's will" is. This reached the height of ridiculousness when our president claimed he had spoken to God and got the thumbs up on invading Iraq. So Jesus is OK with the tens of thousands of innocents killed over there?

Asking questions that assume certain facts not in evidence. Like "I know Jesus wants all Muslims dead but what kind of weapons should we use to kill them". What?

Voting for Bush because he's a "man of faith" even though his only impacts will be collecting fewer taxes from the billionaires, running up more federal debt than all presidents before him combined, killing tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis, and destrying the US's relationship with almost every other developed country in the world. And I suppose Jesus tells Bush and company to lie to Congress when they're ask to be accountable for their actions?

Then there's the incredible ignorance displayed with statements like "evolution is only a theory". That's just such a blatant contempt for truth. It's just such a despicable statement about humanity that people would choose foma (beautiful lies) over the truth and then attempt to trick their children into doing the same.

Then there's the maniacal ravings (like KimIsland's). How can a rational person read that and think anything except coo-coo, coo-coo, coo-coo?

Put the shoe on the other foot !!!.

You ranted about freedom to do this and freedom to do that.

Why ?? Because of your religion/beliefs.

Meaning what?? If i don't follow you like a wee sheep then i have no freedom. I am a lost soul !!!

Sorry but i have my own beliefs, and i get attacked for them by christians.
Plus the fact i don't think i do spew venom at other peoples religion/beliefs. If i have a view on something they bring up then i will put that view across.

If you can't stand the heat (or constructive criticism) get out the kitchen.......

Just saw your update about 'history'

My faith/belief lies with "The Religion of the Wise" or if you prefer "The Old Religion".

Which was on the go way ,way before any of your Christian religions/beliefs. Go look that up !!!

one of the main reasons they attack is because we still live in a world where discussing politics and religion are taboo, they are a personal choice and are private decisions and when a person attacks they are saying you are inappropriate in your comments or questions or discussion of those topics. There is another reason in that people now by using the internet feel there are no bounds to openness, frankness, to their opinions, and mostly because they see the other person as a "word" and not as a "human being" on the other side of the words. There is still a third group of people who get a buzz or a high on starting controversy, arguments, rights, etc. or feel that controversy brings out more discussion, so they abuse, blame, bully, etc. for their own entertainment when they are bored on the net (and sometimes elsewhere).

In addition, your comments turned to "groupthink". The net does have groups of people who like to gang up on others for fun and entertainment. That kind of thinking is now showing itself in criminal behavior in the world, and hopefully soon the laws that are in place or soon to be in place will be honored. The jails are full so I suspect it iwll be a fine that is imposed.

Well lets see, You try to impose you belief's on others by wanting to require prayer in school, teach creationism to my children, not allow gay people to live their life as they wish, force women to have babies they don't want, I could go on. Religion has no place in public policy. There are many religions besides Christianity, and some of you seem to think you are the only ones who have a right to speak your mind.

I do realize most Christians are not that extreme, but the few that are are very vocal, If other views don't speak up it increases their power over the masses. We have to stick up for what we believe when we feel people are trying to impose their belief system upon us. This does not make me hateful, but some people just go too far.

The closer we get to the end times the more people will hate christians and everything they stand for. Jesus was hated when he was on earth so why would we be treated any different. In the last days men will call evil good and good evil. Those who endure to the end shall be saved.
Satan uses these nitwits on here to try and put us down and discourage us, but just remember, the bible says every knee will bow and every tongues confess Jesus is lord.

This phenomena was foretold.
2 Peter 3:1 Beloved ones, this is now the second letter I am writing YOU, in which, as in my first one, I am arousing YOUR clear thinking faculties by way of a reminder, 2 that YOU should remember the sayings previously spoken by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through YOUR apostles. 3 For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”

5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men.

Do you hold Jehovah's Witnesses in the same regard as yourself, being a Christian. Try to be agnostic, with an extended family who eat, sleep, and breathe for Kingdom Hall. How would you feel around them? I don't feel welcomed there.

I think as evangelical Christians up their ante, and try to invade our schools, our courts and even our homes (when they proselyte door to door), people who believe that the basic tenets of evangelical Christianity are absurd also feel the need to up the ante.

People used to be much more apathetic about religion. But if the evangelicals want to wage a battle, they shall have it.

It's a matter of protecting children from dangerous ideas.
