I've got a slice of tomato in my sandwich that's green on the inside, and red around the skin. Okay to eat?

I live in the northwest, so I've never encountered green tomatoes before. :P Ate it, and it was alright. Thanks!

Most deffinatley. It's just not all the way ripe. But green tomatoes won't kill you. One of my favorite meals is fried green tomatoes! (IT's more than just a movie!)

Yep, it sure is. Mmmm, mmmm.. Have you ever had fried green tomatoes??? Yummy!

Your tomato looks that way due to the results of gigantic centralized industrial farming methods.

Tomatoes are picked nearly green, then put in an argon gas chamber to turn them red. Your tomato just didn't get the full treatment

It's fine, it's just not ripe and probably won't have much of a taste. On the other hand, it could be a hybrid or an heirloom tomato. Some of them have a variety of colors and color combinations and can be quite tasty.
