I am thinking of getting a Next PowerX 26" Mens bike from walmart. However, after reading reviews, I'm having second thoughts. Is there a pretty good alternative that doesnt cost significantly more?
And what do you think of Mongoose bikes? Are they good?

Stay away from the PowerX and any bike at Walmart for that matter. Bikes at Walmart or the other big box stores are of inferior quality and assembled by unskilled mechanics. Go to a bike shop and look at what they have to offer. You may save a few bucks at Walmart, but you will almost certainly need to go to a bike shop to have the bike adjusted and tuned. This will eat up almost all of your savings. Bike shops also include a free adjustment period and other warranties.

My son's first BMX bike was a mongoose. That was 24 years ago. If the quality has remained the same, it's a good bike.

well its not cheap but get a bike from a professional bike shop it wont break as fast trust me iv been bmxin fur 3 years and i buy each bike fur 3 to $500 but its worth it

do not buy the other turds out there. all that suspension is bullshit that juat weighs alot that you dout use and you got to haul it all around like a big dummie. **** buying a new bike before bikes got faggotized there were perfectli fine bikes that did not have to have gizmos on it toslow you down they are easy to p0int out no bullshit shocks and **** **** that **** I cannot excaim louder **** that ******* bullshit
