You may need to ask yourself "Is this a job I really like and want to do for the next um um years?" If the answer is yes and you really enjoy what you do other than just the fact that it pays your bills, then try doing some extra things at work when you are done with your assignments, ask others there if they need help with anything whether it is researching on the computer or writing letters to people (just some examples). By doing this, you are not only just keeping yourself from getting bored, but it looks good to your coworkers who will really appreciate you and it looks good for your boss (especially at review and raise time).

Now if this is a job you don't really like and you wish you were doing something else, then analyse your interests and what type of occupation you would like. If you have to take courses and go back to school, believe me, it is worth the effort and the rewards pay off.

I was in many dead end jobs until I found something I half liked and then I decided I want to do this the next umteen years so I am now back in school so I can be fully qualified so that I can be a "full force hiree". When I was working the dead end jobs, I found ways to unbore myself by helping my coworkers and even my boss.

One other suggestion I can make for you is that since you draw, have you thought of graphic or commercial arts? If you took the required courses, you would find a company that wants you.

Start out by making your personal list of your interests, goals and attibutes.

Hope this all helps.

I don't get bored at work, I am focus on productions and I interact with people. People that are bored are unfocus on what they are doing or not doing.
