Im a chemical process technology student,im still a freshman,i will be only be able to choose one which i want to specialise in however im keen on both industries,but which one of those is better?

the pharmaceutical industry logically will make big bucks in the future from the results of the petro. also the petro. will startr losing ground at least in the next 20 years because of global warming and ecological fuels

Definitely petrochemical - I've been in both as a Chemical Engineer. In petrochemical you can work on all processes and have the opportunity to make basic changes and improvements. In Pharmaceutical, your work is "around the edges" since process changes are difficult with FDA approvals required.

Also, chemical technology is more valued in petrochemical since it is the heart of their business.

I think that you would be better off in the petroleum and chemical industry. There are a lot of very good jobs there that do not require a lot of post graduate education.

The pharmaceutical industry usually requires post graduate education for most of it's good jobs. Without it, even with a degree, you could end up as a lab tech for some PHDer.

since you are into chem process tech. youd be better of in a pharmaceutical industry..
if you should decide to go to petrochem industry , you should pursue to become a chemical engineer

chem process tech not only involves only petrochemical and pharma industry but various others too.
if i had been in ur place i would
have selected pharma cos its shelf life is certainly more than petrochem ind.

Both are great. You can be good at both too if you want to.
