Not unless you have legal custody, she's on your taxes as a dependant, and your income doesn't exceed the federal limit for this deduction.

You can't deduct it unless she is your dependent. But she could most likely take a tax credit for it, if she's not a dependent - if she's a dependent, of her parents for example, then they could take the credit.
