during my move I lost my form now im trying to go Va loan for a house, Ive submitted for a copy from the USAF. Does anyone know a faster way to obtain a copy?

You can order a copy of your DD 214 online now. There is a website operated by the National Archives. If you are a veteran, you can use it. It is free and fast.

when you got out of the service and were given your DD form 214 and told to take it to your city or county offices as soon as you got home and to have them make a copy and put it on file just for this reason. So just go there and get a certified copy. If you did not put it on file as required, the waiting time to get one from the military records center is 6 months or more.

I made multiple copies at the court house, where they store them locally. That's the only way to get them faster than from the military. Another advantage is that they are certified as "original", rather than a photocopy, which is invalid.
