i am a guy. 5'10, medium frame, and i only weight 135 pounds. some of my friends tell me that i look like a stick. i try to gain. i stop doing exercises and try to eat a lot. but still. some people told me i need to exercise cuz it can make me feel hungry and eat. some told me just eat and lay down everyday, no exercises. i dont know which one i should follow. to be honest, sometimes i dont wanna eat, but when i'm hungry, i eat a lot! i try to eat more sweet foods and ice cream. it seems it doesnt have any effect. so which opinion is true, more exercise or no exercise? if i do exercise everyday, will that make me feel hungry and eat a lot OR will it just burn more calories and make me even skinnier?

If you want to gain weight correctly, then don't rush it. You want to gain the right type of weight, meaning muscle, unless all you care about is the extra weight. I agree with limiting the cardio or aerobic type exercises. Focus more on weight training right now until you get to your ideal weight. Focus more on multijoint or compound exercises and use a weight that is challenging for you to get to 8-12 reps. for 3-4 sets. But before this, focus on form and technique, and really focus on muscle contraction. Try exercising two days in a row and resting one day, then repeat. For the foods, throw out the junk food man. No ice cream or cheese burgers or jack in the box crap. You can get weight that way, but you will harm your health internally. You have to eat more, and more often. Since you are strength training, you need to up the protein intake. Now I am not suggesting you go on a low carb diet, but I am recommending you eat more protein in order to feed the growing muscles. Now the important part here is after exercising, switch to "lazy mode". What I mean here is that dont move much after exercising. Focus on rest and eating. The more you move, the more energy you will expend and that will hinder your weight gain. Conserve energy my friend because your body is already burning alot of it off. Eat 6-8 meals a day,. i am not a nutritionist, but I think you need above 2500 calories to gain weight, maybe even over 3000. Good luck.

Keep exercising, but workout a little differently. Focus on strength training. Lift weights that you can only do about 8 reps of and try to do a few sets of each exercise.

Eat as much as you can without feeling sick, but make sure you still eat healthy. the sweet foods are a bad idea. Aim for about 200grams of protein a day, and about the same amount of carbs. Remember, if at least half of your muscles don't feel like hell every other day, you didn't work hard enough.

Gain weight by gaining muscle. That's the best way to go, but it's hard to do.

Also, try to workout your back and chest a lot, especially the back. And some dips will thicken those arms up really quick. See if you can work your way up to thirty.

Your young and your metabolism is in high gear, don't worry about what your friends say, if you feel healthy and strong then stick to your program. Everyone fills out when they start getting older so give it time and don't mess with your bodies normal function. It's easier to get new friends who will accept you as you are. Good luck
