I have been convinced that it is true after denying its truth for many many years.
And, it was nothing that I did....my logic didnt sort it out, i wasn't finally convinced by others.
The bible became real and true for me the day that Jesus Christ revealed His truth.
To those of you who do not believe that the Bible is THE WORD of God, all I can say is to continue seeking the truth. If you are openminded and heartfelt about God, the truth in His word will be revealed to you.
All your questions and confusion is legitimate-- do not let other people tell you that your questions are wrong...what is wrong is if you do not pursue God's truth, so continue asking and we'll continue praying that God make a way for you to know Jesus.
All we Christians request is that when you ask your questions, ask earnestly and respectfully please.
May the Lord Jesus Christ make His light to shine in your life.

well I have studied it I have prayed I was once a very very devout follower. The more I studied the more absurd it became. Instead of simply following the crowd I decided to think objectively about it. Hence now I am Atheist. So if I ever get proof that it is true it had better be concrete but I probably would not change a single thing about my life and belief system now, as I am a totally happy person

There was a revelation spoken by the prophets which you heard and believed. At which point, you may want to know more about the revelation (study), and with understanding, you pray.
As a Christian, we believe that the bible is God's word as spoken by his prophets. It tells about God's promises, some that are fulfilled and some yet to come. It tells especially of one promise that was fulfilled by Jesus (God's saves) which is documented in four accounts.
By now you should see the word "believe" as central and with belief comes action. One action requested by Jesus for his followers (disciples) was to teach all nations. If you believe that the bible is "true", you would share it with everyone.
Answer: If the bible is true, I should do what it asks, share (teach) its pages with everyone.

That is a huge if as there are not enough original works from that time period to cross reference the bible against. As such, I will never believe it to be complete truth but merely that while it may contain some here and there, most is exaggeration and infected with the human bias of those who wrote it.

I used to believe and study the Bible. Then I learned some truths that opened my eyes. Unfortunatelly, that was in my last year in college when I was to become an ordained minister.

Since I needed no convincing that it is true because I believe and trust in the Lord with all my heart, I'll continue what I continue, which is live my life the way God intended me to live, through bad times and good, and trust in Him for He is my guiding force. But, you can go ahead and become self-righteous.

I would do the same thing if I was convinced that the story of Little Red Riding Hood was true......nothing beyond watching out if grandma looked hairy.

Make sure that I had not taken any hallucinogens prior to the study and prayer.
I personally thing "knowing" and "believing" are seperate concepts. The point of faith is to accept things that are impossible to "know" in our physical world. If you knew, then what would you have to believe?
So to answer more succinctly your original question, I'd probably get bored because I'm interested in faith and not certainty.

I have studied (with prayer) God's word for years
true with no contradictions
I would study and pray more
A non-believer who finally studied and prayed could have their eyes opened to the truth (they would change not God and His word)

mypublicident, What? Satan is called a manslayer from the beginning in the Bible. Satan is the one who deceived Eve and caused the fall of man into death through sin, Satan then is responsible for every death ever recorded in human history.
