I'm answering because I have the problem.

Scoliosis really has no proventive tips because, generally, it is present from birth. As you know, from any research you may have done, it involves an abnornmal curvature of the spine. Sometimes, the abnormal curve is slight--other times, it's very severe. Either way, it's a problem that should be monitored by, preferably, a neurologist / pain management doctor. Overtime, the spine can shift causing great pain. That's what's happened to me and resulted in a recent proceedure / surgery for a permanent spinal cord stimulator to help manage the pain. I had the proceedure done 1-2-07 with a necessary relocation of the generator / battery inside me done 2-27-07. I have an 80% success rate out of 100%. No one can get 100%. I'm SO HAPPY!

I have Scoliosis but not from birth or teenage years. Mind started because I had a severe muscle spasm in my back, that went unnoticed and untreated by the Doctors. Five months before I went to Hospital and then they believed I was having a flare in the Arthritis? Eventually the Physiotherapist put me on some machine, it relieved the spasm and hey presto. However three years later they did x-rays and scoliosis. I guess they are thinking along the lines of good posture, not slouching but sitting up straight and watching out for the dreaded muscle spasms.
