I don't know. The Christians in the US aren't like the Christians in the rest of the world. I think I know why too. The Christians in the rest of the world have been forced, over a long period of time, to learn how to live with others. The Christians in the US have had far too much power for far too long and are beginning to lose that power so they're becoming for vocal and hurtful in a desperate attempt to stop the loss.
Have to say that Canada has some of that problem too but most Christians here learned long ago that church and state should be separate and that it has no place in schools. There isn't even questions about that here, though Mormons and JW's still knock on your door, and they still protest abortion.
With an American husband, American friends, and American family, I've learned some very important things about Americans.
1. They never do things half way.
2. They are incredibly passionate about absolutely everything.
3. They're unpredictable.
4. They're arrogant because of the power the US holds in the world.
All of those can be good and bad things. And are reason I love them. They just need to learn when to fight and when to back off. They're been so used to fighting absolutely everything, that sometimes they don't know when they need to quit.

I totally agree with you. I have met very few good, honest, non-judgmental Christians in my life. (I will say that my own in-laws are probably two of the few that I've met) People tend to take the Bible and interpret it the way they see fit for their beliefs. My husband and I have come across so many people "Christians" like this, that we choose to teach our children about God without sending them to church. I don't want them growing up thinking it's ok to tell me they'll burn in hell if they don't know Jesus, or because they have a different belief. We honestly feel like we can teach them more by just letting them know God loves them and to be the best people they can be.

Who DO you remember "saying that one"? Is that a direct quote from "most modern american Christians"? You misquoted Jesus, and I think you made up a bonehead comment and attributed it to a large group. You're absurd.

This is because you need to go though Jesus to be saved and before Jesus came to save humanity all people were going to hell for not being able to obey God's commandments. So in a sense it does say that you will go to hell if you don't believe in what Jesus did

We were told to spread the word, I think we did a good job. Do you know anyone who doesn't know who He is? I don't. If people choose to deny Him, that's free will, we can't make them believe. Our job was just to let them know, its done. Only Christ is the judge, none of us. He will judge by the heart, so when anyone says another will burn in hell, they're blashphemers, trying to take Christ's job of judge.

He also said it is not for you to judge others as my father will judge them as they enter the kingdom of heaven.

You have met most of them?
Why are you so small minded to stereotype people?
