Forgive me if my question is being misunderstood. It's our tendencies to rationalize, intellectualize, and don't care attitude that enable us to DO evil deeds. How do we, having these tendencies, avoid them?

Hm. I should think rationalizing would lead to not doing evil deeds, as one could rationalize that if you stole a purse you could wind up in jail, so why do it, when you could get a good job and not need to steal in the first place.... I understand that you are saying that some folks can rationalize wrongdoing so as to find a justification for it, but then I question the "rationality" of people that do so......

By receiving a new nature.

We can not serve God or live as we ought to live with the nature that we are born with.

It takes a radical execution or that nature and God's Holy Spirit to be immediately implanted into us.

Without the Spirit of Christ, we are non of his. The Spirit when it inhabits a person enables that person to live

FREE FROM SIN.

Upon Salvation (redemption, the new birth, being born from above, etc), we receive that peace that surpasseth all understanding which comes from God. Being redeemed enables a person to do all things according to the will of God.

The Word of God comes alive and as we grow more and more into the complete person God wants us to be we understand more and more of the Bible.

Of course it is a Spiritual battle so it will not be a life of a flowery bed of ease. We will have to fight but we already have the victory in Christ.

Got to go.

What appears to be evil to one person may not be evil to another.

Some points may gain the status of universal agreement.

It is very subjective isn't it?

Interesting question.

rationalize and intellectualize is fine
but we must adopt a caring attitude with it
as long as we care about things , then the only deeds that should be done are ones out of compassion
