Fathers and mothers are not the same. They each have different characteristics and roles that together help implement God's plan for our growth and development.
From, "The Family: A Proclamation to the World."
By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation.

certain notwithstanding it relies upon the way you outline ''head''. i'm a married Muslim female, my husband and that i are equivalent, we share all aspects of our existence, we make judgements at the same time, similar as the different married couple. the point of a guy being the ''head'' of the loved ones is in simple terms even as a decision that needs to be made yet can't be agreed upon at the same time then the perfect decision is right down to the husband. i do no longer see it as a domineering element or a damaging. Its like at artwork ultimately the boss takes responsibility for the way the agency works, if the perfect judgements are his, the dollar has to end with someone, and the boss is it. In Islam the guy has such loads of a lot more advantageous well-known jobs than the female does. So a Muslim or no longer i believe the guy is the pinnacle of the loved ones. My dad continually grow to be and is and is no longer a Muslim so... I see it no longer as a religious situation in any respect. call me previous shaped yet i love it this kind and would not replace it for something. I have equality in my marriage and performance yet to have my husband pull ''i'm the ''head'' of the loved ones'' card... lol does no longer mean, unstated all be it he's not, he's.

Being the head of the household does not mean dictating everything everyone does and being a slavemaster.
It means taking full responsibility for the needs of the household. Taking into consideration everyone's feelings, needs and desires when making a decision, taking full responsibility and not pointing the finger or shifting blame when wrong decisions are made. Head of the household is a huge responsibility that very few men today take fully and seriously.
God is a God of order- He created oder and commands that we walk in His order. Unfortunately all sin and all pick and choose what is comfortable and convenient for them, men and women alike. God never said men lord over your wives with an iron rod- He said love your wives as Christ loved the church- meaning lay down your life for her. Yes, men are to be the final authority in the home but that is not after taking stock of what is good for them- it is after taking stock of his entire family- what is best for all and what is needed by all and being 100% willing to take full responsibility and be repentent when things are out of order- laying down his own will and desires for the life, health and benefit of his wife and children.
Yes, there are a lot of men that make dumb decisions but if you really read the word, the men that were called by God and that God honored did not make excuse for their sin, took responsibility, received without question discipline and instruction.
Women, whether we like it or not, have not bee given this authority and if we had we would be making the same dumb mistakes as men - or maybe different ones but just as devastating.

Just remember where the bible came from: The middle east, where even today, women are treated as possessions...many forced to wear burkas...... In many M. E. countries even today, a woman cannot go out on the street unless accompanied by a male..... even if that male is her six year old son. Look anywhere in the bible, and women are worth nothing --- one guy offered his daughter up as a sacrifice, other women were forced to have sex (rape) as an offering of good will to other men, and to please god.... weird.......
The men were not dumb, they simply followed the ethic of the time.... indeed women in the US couldn't vote, until 1920!!!! pretty sorry.

It is true that men are to be the head of the house..that being said.here is what it does and what it does not mean..Jesus said that the husband is to love his wife as He(Jesus) loves the church...(that is a very powerful command). The man is not to "lord" it over the wife, but to lead her lovingly and not as a tyrant(God will judge such that do so). It also does not mean that the man is smarter or more intelligent than the woman(often times the opposite is true). The woman should feel comforted in her submission,in that much responsibility is taken off her and God will reward her for submitting as unto Him(God)...It is God's order in the chain of command..We simply have different roles...
Woman, often times are stonger mentally and spiritually..whereas men usually are stronger phsyically and emotionally...we are just different....

The answer comes when you look at the integration of religion and culture. All religions are cultural adaptations to environmental conditions and societal needs. Christianity is no different. This part of the bible is a reflection of the values of the religion that supported the culture at the time. I am christian, but I believe that there is no need to ignore this fact. Belief in God does not mean I need to be ignorant.

Its because men had the most power back then and we continue to hold a great amount of power. And also because it was men, not women, who wrote the Bible.

Because that is another thing about religion, especially Christianity; it upheld for hundreds of years, slavery of all kinds and kept women down under the feet of all men. Christianity is one filty thing, and the one thing that has kept mankind dumb for so long e.g.; the sun revolves around the earth (the RCC taught that until the earlier 1600s) What low life jackasses. The Vatican should be bombed and burned.

Because men wrote the Bible and have really fragile egos so they wrote themselves in charge, even though most of them have no clue how to run a household.
