I just found out that it is primarily a boys name. I just think it sounds feminine. I also think Aidan sounds feminine as well. I have 3 kids all with irish names and would like to know what you think? I also like Taran but I do not want people to think it sounds african american since we are irish...no offense to anyone...what do you think?

For sure, i think Kieran, Aiden, Arden are all great girl names. I'm a big fan of using boy's names as possible girl names.

I have a daughter named Kennedy. And I'm expecting now. We were going to name her Eliot, but we found out we're having a son. Alas, we are having a hard time finding a boy's name we like for a boy.

Big thumbs up on your girl names! Not a big fan of Taran.

I know of a woman named Aidan, but Kieran is male. Kiera is a good alternative. there are women named Michael, though, so name her what you want. her teachers will go nuts, but so what?

Use Kiera instead. Think of Kiera Knightly.

If you must, but it won't help your kid.

Aidan is very definitely masculine, more so than Kieran.

Taran is a name I don't know and wish I had not learned it here today.
