Hi, the ABS light in my 94 Cadillac fleetwood Brougham is constantly on. However, I have replaced the brakes and bled them. Could there be something else wrong here?

There are usually two warning lights for the brakes on these cars, a red and an orange one. The red one indicates a real safety concern and the car should not be driven when it is on. The orange indicates that the ABS module has detected a fault and the ABS has been disabled. If the red one is on, check to be sure the emergency brake is fully released and the switch is working. Then be sure that the brake fluid is full and if it is that the level sensor switch is working. If the red light is still on and you have bled the brakes good and correctly, you have a problem with one or more of the proportional valves and need help. If it is the orange light, you will have to get the codes scanned from the module to see which circuit to diagnose. If that is not available, just try looking closely at all the wheel speed sensors and electrical harnesses to them as these tended to be in the rock stream and can easily be damaged. Good luck.

oh .yes .this happen 2 my 95fleetwood when i replace them front pads.this is what you feel your brake pedal is a little smoothy and take a little time to stop. this is what you can do .take all 4 wheels off the ground. remove the drums (if it has one)-look behind the axhale there is a bleeder valve -start the car -have someone push on the brake 2 or 3 times then hold the pedal down- while you start bleeding from the right rear wheel then to the left .move 2 the front.then open the hood look on your driver side there is ABS system with all them brake lines ,on top there is a bleeder valve with a rubber on it ,bleed that too. if you do all that the light will go away .use good jack stand

You may want to check the ABS pump since the light is still on. Just replacing the pads and bleeding the brakes isn't always the solution.

the rubber seals in the master cylinder have gone( worn or perished) you can buy a repair kit with new seals in, a used one of the same age may have the same trouble. if you stamp on the brakes hard they are probably OK

the most common problem is the wheel speed sensor is bad. have a shop put a scaner on it.
