The Disciples of Christ is the church that Jim Jones of the Peoples Temple was a part of. He was an ordained minister of their Church. They believe like so many man made churches that they are the restored church after the Church founded by Jesus and the apostles fell into apostasy. The biggest problem with this heretical point of view is that Jesus said that this would not happen to His Church and that it would endure until the Parousia making Christ a liar and questioning the veracity of His teaching.

Dear Loving,

The Bible tells us that at this particular time we are in a period called the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24). Many "church goers" will tell you that the tribulation lasts 7 years but in reality it is a period of 23 culminating with the 2nd advent of Christ. The "church age" ended in 1988 which means that God stopped using the churches as the earthly representation of the Kingdom of God. You may ask, "Why did this happen?" It is exactly the same reason that God stopped using Israel as the earthly representation of the Kingdom of God in 33 AD. The fact is that the people starting following "other gods." Whe God was using Israel, people were secretly worshipping other gods in groves or high places. The Bible tells us that no man can serve 2 masters. The same thing has happened in the churches of our day--men have brought their own ideas concerning God rather than relying on the word of God-the Bible. This is why if you go to a particular denomination and ask them about "baptism", they will give you an answer different from another christian denomination. The truth is God only wrote 1 Bible, so everyone should be consistent in their doctrine. But it is not that way.

God has allowed satan to rule in ALL the churches now. If you recall, satan's desire was to be "like the Most High." Satan already ruled the earth but he could not rule in the churches because the Holy Spirit was there. In 2 Thessalonians 2 God tells us that the Holy Spirit has departed from ALL the local congregations (churches) and satan (the man of sin) is now ruling there. Because God the Holy Spirit is not present, it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to be saved there now. In fact, anyone remaining in the churches is being prepared for judgment day.

From everything that we know from the Bible to this date, it appears that 2011 will be the year in which Christ returns, and hence the end of the world. If you read Revelation 18 (whole chapter) but particularly verse 4, you will see that God is commanding His people (true believers) to come out of the churches.

I hope this will help you.
