many people can write great stories, but to incinuate they are 'true' when they are works of fiction.. is a bit beyond their worth.

J.K.Rowling writes great books but I know there is not a platform 9 1/2 ... or a train to hogwarts

Hmm what part of the book is fiction, what part of it was in the fiction section did you not get.

These theories never came out until the book Holy Blood Holy Grail came out in 1982 (Brown gets all of his story line regarding Jesus from there so it is not genius). While the authors claim Holy Blood Holy Grail is true, they have been academically proven wrong many times over and still have yet to show any evidence (even fake evidence) of their claim. The book was so poorly done and tried to present itself as an academic work (by non academics it discredited itself without evening trying or needing scholars to. But scholars discredited it for fun anyway (so not even genius in it's original form).

As far as the Davinci Codes goes, worst book I ever read if you cannot even give your main character a job in a real field of study (there is no such field as Symbology or a symbologist) then what does that say about everything else.

Based on the painting of the last supper which he calls a fresco (ha ha ha) it is a tempura.

First prime meridian through France, st sulpice church (which was built in the 1600s) HA HA HA

No. There are history books and historical novels and novels. The DaVinci code was just a novel.
If it was a historical novel he would have done better with what facts he did use. For instance he said the Jesuits had the Knights Templar banned.
Knights Templars were banned in the 1300s., The Jesuit order was not founded until the 1500s.
The Dead Sea Scrolls do not mention Jesus, Mary Magdalene or Christianity.
He took the "implications" that Jesus married Mary Magdalene from the Gnostic gospels. Gnostic Christians believe the material world and the flesh were evil.
The Priory of Sion was founded in 1956. The genealogy is a fraud done by a convicted con man
and anti semite named Pierre Plantard. He later admitted it was a fraud.
Josh Bernstein (no doubt a Jew) did some investigation. He managed to obtain a bone of one of the supposed "direct descendants" of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. DNA test was done and it only showed European DNA no Middle Eastern.
Dan Brown took most of his information from Holy Blood Holy Grail. One of the writers of that book stated if any one says he believes that Jesus Christ married Mary Magdelene and had a child, they are lying. He said the book was a hypothesis.

The recent "documentary" on the finding of the tomb and the ossuaries is not new. Connections to Jesus Christ have been debunked not only by Christian scholars but by Israeli archealogists. Jesus, Mary and Joseph were not uncommon names.

Also he stated that the Catholic Church wanted to downgrade women. What Church has revered one woman, Mary, mother of Jesus, like the Catholic Church. Only Orthodox are equal in their reverence for her.

I don't believe the ideas in "The Da Vinci Code" to be true, I believe the ideas are made up to cause drama and controversy in the religious sector. Which it has accomplished thus far. It drew interest in the movie and more so in the book. That's all I believe it's cracked up to be, nothing more especially to believers of all Jesus has done and full-filled as both God and man. The Bible says something to the effect that if the Devil were able to fool even the very elect he would have done so; but this is not possible because God will not allow this to happen. He will reveal truth, secrets and his mystery's to those who worship him in spirit and truth.

I don't understand why people don't comprehend the word "fiction". Dan Brown is a fantastic writer, but unfortunately, there are just a lot of simple minded people who take fiction as fact. I mean really, the author says its fiction, so why in the world is there any controversy at all? Do you believe in vampires because you read Dracula or saw the movie? All of Dan Brown's books contain elements of conspiracy, he's good at that style of writing. I kind of feel sorry for him considering how many people just don't get it. Maybe some people are just too dense to be allowed to read fiction, they're just too gullible and easy to influence. How sad is that?

No, it's not. Read the historical accounts from the period and then make the decision. The book didn't sell much in France, because they knew it was a steaming pile of horse crap.

If you want to inform yourself, start reading St. Irenaeus "Against Heresies" and Hippolytus "Against All Heresies" to understand the reliability of the groups the book starts with. After that, work your way through history. Needless to say, it won't look nearly as promising at the end of the day.

A story...that's all it is.

It's just another way to get peoples mind off of the true reason Jesus came in the first place.

I honestly could care less if Jesus was married. How does it effect His teaching?

It would seem to be closer to the truth than what they've all been reading for way too long.

With the surfacing of the tomb, many are opening their minds. But the powers that be are afraid that the real truth would have a devastating effect on society so they suppress the truth from the masses. Just like the UFO thing!

No, this book is pure fiction. I think it's rediculous how many people think it's real and are getting their panties in a bunch over how Jesus might have had a love interest, or whatever. It's just a story. Get over yourselves (no one in particular)

The Davinci Code is wrong. it's just a story, that says Jesus Christ was a normal man, who was married to Maria Magdalena, and that he has descendants. it is wrong wrong wrong. Jesus died on the Croce, so we could be saved.

you should read the Bible, to understand this. It's much better then davinci's code

I would guess that the devil is a genius in making up stories, lies, deceptions, false religions, etc. That's why so many people are lead astray.
