Basically, I'm a shy guy who is not into the bar or clubbing scenes. I don't go to these places because I don't feel comfortable in them. Also, some people who know me say that I'm a little weird which hurts and makes me doubt that I am even likeable. I am single and would like to find a woman to be with because I am getting older and lonelier, but how does someone who is shy and reserved like me do that?

Look, everyone is weird! There is no normal but there is always someone for everyone. So dont let your low self image keep you from meeting the person you are meant to.
There are many options for you out there but I agree with my-kids-mom that e-harmony and match.com are good avenues for you to try. Match will cost a little less and is a little more user friendly. Just try to read between the lines a little and know that some of those on the site dont post the most recent photos. You will be able to tell when the woman posts a pic of when she was 20 and her age is 40...
E-Harmony takes some time to fill out all the questions but is supposed to be more accurate. I however liked match better and have had some pretty good results. Met a few great people. I would suggest that you just be youself and try to set up casual dates like a cup of coffee or a casual lunch. Remember that you are a worthy person. You can believe in yourself and the stuff you are made of more than what you look like. Remember also that you may want to give your date the same slack...

It isn't a matter of where really, you can meet women anywhere outside of your house. Shy and reserved is often code for lacking confidence. If you work on that it will help you approach women you want to meet.

Bars clubs parties through friends. Go out more socialize. The more you do the more chances of meeting women you have.
