I broke my elbow in 4 places yesterday and the nurse said take some paracetamol and some alcohol......think you should just stick to one or the other though!?

Sure, as long it doesn't interfere with meds if you have any. A few beers and you'll still be in pain...but won't care.

Mate not as good as Panadol or aspirin. but if they aren't available then make sure the wounds are sterilised and drink as many glasses as it takes.

beer is o.k., but tequila is much more efficient. a good rip from a bong in addition to the teguila is probably the best solution.
