I am a Pantheist. I don't like it when people compare the Bible to fairy tales because fairy tales have happy endings. To put the two in the same catagory, is to give fairy tale a bad name!

Yes, it's based on bronze age middle eastern goat herders fairy tales. A difference with other fairy tales is that Peter Pan or Harry Potter were not used as domination instrument or pretext to kill millions of people like religion is used for.

Not that i particularly take offense to this, but some dedicated christians will most definatley. Sometimes even though you might not agree to other people's beliefs you still need to be respectful and conscientious about what you say. Comparing religion to fairy tales does not seem like a fair comparison.

Fairy tales are fairy tales, There are many of them, sometimes life seems like a fairly tale speically if things go right, but to compare God to fairly tales no way...
God is very much real, very much alive so there is no fairly tale about Him. Blessings

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

With God all things are possible. He works miracles.

Many well-known fairy stories share a common format: a forlorn, orphaned young person, cast out from his or her former home, after various trials and tribulations is rescued and united with a loved one -- a parent or royal personage. Cinderella serves as a good model: the orphaned child is trapped and bullied by her wicked stepmother and ugly stepsisters, meaning that the human soul is estranged from its spiritual nature or "father in heaven" and comes under the unpleasant control and influence of the lower side of nature. These are not her natural blood relatives, suggesting that the human soul rightly belongs to its better side. Dislodged from its proper status, the soul struggles to recover its legitimate state. By purity and virtue it gains the support and help of its fairy godmother, the spiritual soul. Many tales use the godmother and giver of gifts to represent the soul's finer qualities unfolded through merit. "This elven power uniting the human soul with its divine source is the channel (or elf) which confers on its child all earned spiritual endowments"

In some regards, I suppose so. Like the average fairy tale, we have a handsome Prince (Jesus Christ), someone in distress (the human race), something that seems tragic (the Crucifixion), and a happy ending (the Resurrection and life everlasting.)

The difference is that our story has historical evidence to prove that our Prince existed, died, and rose from the dead. Jesus is very much alive and loves us, even to this day.

God willing, maybe someday you'll be among those of us who are enjoying the "happily ever after" in Heaven with our Prince of peace.
