Hi !!!
This is how I make my Baked Beans...
Southern Baked Beans recipe
6 Servings
Ingredients
1 pound Campbell's Baked Beans
2 teaspoon Mustard
1/4 cup Onion chopped
2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup Brown sugar firmly packed
8 slices Bacon cooked crisp & crumbled
1/4 cup Ketchup
Directions
The easiest bacon is the already cooked by Oscar Meyer, Hormel or Tyson. Basically, it's priced the same. Just pop it into the microwave for a couple of minutes and voila! no mess to clean! Crumble it, pull it apart to make small pieces.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
Pour into a medium sized casserole dish. Bake at 350 until bubbly, about 40 minutes or less.

Liz & Amy's Quick and Easy Southern Spiced Baked Beans
3 cans baked beans, your favorite brand and flavor (maple flavor is a good complement)
1/2 lb. bacon, cut in 1/4 in. slices
1/2 red pepper diced
1/2 medium sized onion diced
1 jalapeno diced (seeds and membrane removed)
1/8 cup maple syrup (more if desired)- optional
1 - 2 teaspoons Caroline's Texas Chili Seasoning Mix, to taste
salt and pepper to taste
In a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, render and brown the bacon until 3/4 cooked. Drain the bacon grease, reserving 2 - 3 tablespoons of grease with which to sauté the red pepper, onion and jalapeno.
Add the red pepper, onion and jalapeno to the bacon, and continue to sauté until the vegetables begin to sweat and turn translucent. Gently stir in the beans being careful not to mash or break them up. If mixture is really thick add a tablespoon or two of water to make it more fluid, but be careful not to add too much, as the beans will continue to leach liquid as they cook. Season with salt and pepper, and if desired, add additional maple syrup to taste. If a little more heat is desired, you can kick it up a notch by adding 1 - 2 teaspoons of Texas chili seasoning.
If your non-stick pan is not oven safe, transfer bean mixture to an oven safe pan, cover tightly with a lid or foil, and bake at 250 degrees for an hour, stirring once.
Serves 4 - 5

You've pretty much got your basic baked bean ingredients right there, except I'd add dark molasses & parsley (so none of them are "groce" errrrr or gross LOL So no need to look for something different). Use some common sense in regard to amounts. No need to start with the dried beans. Doctoring up a few big cans of store bought beans can result in a lot of compliments for your homemade beans.
Some guesstimates (w/o knowing how much you are actually making plus I never, ever measure for something like this):
A few big cans of beans (I always keep mine vegetarian, so your choice)
1 med. onion (chopped) or desired amount
about the same amount of chopped gr. pepper - same - put however much you'd like
-1/2 tsp dry mustard
-2 tblsp brown sugar
-1/4 to 1/3 cup ketchup
-1/4 cup dark molasses (I just pour)
-2 tsp. fresh parsley (fresh is always best, of course, but the dried will do if you prefer)
-1/4 tsp. pepper
Bake in your casserole dish at a low heat (250 deg.) for probably around 3 hours. They will be simmering and start to form a little sort of "crust" on top. Let them sit for 15 mins. at least before serving. They stay hot for a long time once out of the oven.
Remember, I'm guessing at the amounts. I tried to imagine myself making it and picture how much I put in. Seems silly, but that's they way of cooking in my house... inherited from my mom. I truely believe many things like this come out better using your best judgment rather that exact measurements in a recipe. I find most recipes to be a little stingier than necessary with some ingredients.
