From my last question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ap6dAct9nbZa90rpqmR6g1Xsy6IX?qid=20070427215858AA8D1LM
I know the information given in the last question isn't infaliable, but based on it there were only two Christian Churches who can even claim: Cathoilic and Mormon.

So it's either one of these or none. My question is out of these two which has more claim? What are their view points?

Please support answers with evidence, reason and respect.

Thanks.

OK NO ONE is answering my question...so hears some Biblical evidence that says there can only be one. And Besides, God wouldn't want there to 10,000 different churches.

Eph 4:5 One faith, one Lord, one baptism.

Eph 4:12-14
12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the minitry, for the perfecting of the body of Christ:
13. Till we all come in the unity of the faith...
14. That we henceforth be no more be carried about with every wind of doctrine...

Please answer the question... thanks.

Schneb: I don't follow you. You just said that the Catholics changed the Bible and then said the Mormons are wrong because they say the Bible has been changed... Could you clarify? Because that doesn't make any sense.

And as for being a cult: all religions can fall under that umbrella. It's just a word that some religions use to degrade others.

You are doing pretty good, I don't know what else anyone can add. The Catholics claim unbroken line of papacy from Peter, the Mormons claim living prophets have been restored, not just reformed, as all protestant and other non-Catholic churches are. They both also claim revelation from God, and more scripture than just the 66 books of the Bible that most Christians claim. I don't know how much else.

First, God will judge by individual, not by institution. So the one true church must be viewed frome individual persons not buildings. Second, some churches have less true individuals vs. others. Why? Some churches have errors that allow those who wish to come to God on "their" terms rather than His.

But to answer your question. One is close. One is not.

The Catholic Church is a sect of Christianity, however, it is steeped in many errors.

The biggest error of the Catholic Church is the changing of Bible to fit their doctrine, as well as adding to the text with Apocraphyl writings.
However, from sect to sect within the Catholic church, there are those that hold or do not hold to these errors.

The Church of Latter Day Saints is a cult. I do not say this lightly. Because they have claimed that the Bible has been supposedly distorted or edited. it is necessary to add other "testaments" to fill in the blanks. This is extreme error.

So where IS the one true church? Jesus made it clear in His seven letters in Revelation.

All 'faiths' require a belief in the fantastic: man meets god, god tells man to kill unbelievers, god has a son who contradicts god.

Established church says sun revolves around earth, heaven is "firmament" attached to sky, man cannot see god anymore.

New guy meets god, told all the old stuff is wrong, chosen people came to America, and to marry other mens wives and daughters. God quits talking, but inspires with warm fuzzies.

Jericho, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Galilee exist. Zalahemla cannot be found, nor anything else.

Paul visited actual places and unified (if not changed altogether) Jesus teachings. There's good historical evidence of Paul's existence.

evidence of anything described by Joseph Smith.
Tons of evidence that JS was not totally up front with his 'teachings'.

Don't loose sleep over which one is 'right' or 'wrong'. If there is a god, he should be pleased with you for using the brain he supposedly gave you.

Well, you left out the Greek Orthodox Church which has as much right to be the "True" Church as the others.

But I would bet that most Christians say that they follow Jesus; if they disagree with the teachings of a church, or of a religious leader, they will follow their heart.

The one that you like and enjoy the best, fact, the catholic church has a well establish government, the Vatican is a Country, and not just a city, of Rome. Catholic practice mass, and Communion, the way Jesus requested specifically, to be done, by his apostles teachings. although I respect Mormons, My needs are best achieved true Catholicism.

The Christian Church; Is the Body of Christ, it is not a building. We are a group of people who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, nothing more, nothing less.

A true Christian follows Jesus not a church

I'm Catholic but I never think that my church is the one true church.

The problem here is people fail to see that "church comes from religion, not religion comes from the church."

So even having a dispute about which is the true church is really senseless.

I think Jesus is the only true church as it all revolves around his teachings anyway....not man's.
