It really depends on your definition of what the Holy Grail is,there are many varied theories about this,some say it is Christ Himself while others maintain it refers to the bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, I believe that it is the cup of the last supper and that it will never be found, it may have been a metal cup or a wooden vessal but in either case it is unlikely to have lasted to the present day.

It's origins lie in the Mabinogion (earliest Welsh writings,) & have nothing to do with Jesus Christ. Christians merely co-opted this legend (like almost everything else,) in order to appease & convert (i.e.; manipulate,) pagans.
