Will my Daddy get dead?
My husband is a police officer and he had heard me talking on the phone when we learned another police officer had been killed. How do you answer a question like that???? My heart bleeds with the mom above who has a husband deployed in Iraq. These are the worst questions to try to answer, by far.

My first two children are from my first marriage. The children were 2 and 9 months old when he left and he hasn't seen them since. They haven't asked me yet, but they are 5 and 7 now, so I know the time is coming soon where they will be asking about their real father. . . . and what do I say? How do you tell your children that their real father abandoned them? I dread that day. . .

Is Daddy finally going to call this year on my birthday? Did he forget that I'm here? Can I call him and remind him?
... (My son is 8, now, but he asked this when he was four, before he was adopted by his stepfather. He does not ask questions like this, anymore, but this was heart-wrenching to answer, nonetheless).

why did my dad beat you up and hurt me trying to get to you? Is that why we were leaving? Did he do it a lot? How did you really fall down the stairs and break your leg? I can trust you to tell me the truth right?

easy enough questions to answer to a little one who doesnt need to know all the why's and hows but she is a bright little thing and doesnt accept silly answers but nor will she accept the truth,,,,,, still figuring out how to anser it with something she will accept

I brought the baby with my husband. Its a secret store and you have to be married to get a baby.

daddy didnt run away he was deployed with the navy last year
