Relaxation can make your pain go away especially if you have a tension headache this is where your muscles are tight you will feel pain all over your head and face in your neck and shoulders.I used to get them for many many years.Lay somewhere comfortable where there is no noise or distractions if you have any nature sound tapes/cds play them especially the ocean sound s are very very relaxing..start breathing very deeply through your nose and out your mouth think of something nice like a walk with a hot guy on the beach and relax. This has always worked for me and maybe it will for you too.Good Luck and God Bless.

Drink as much water (and/or Gatoraide) as you can stomach, get a big ziploc back and pack it full of ice (maybe even one or two of them) and lay down in a dark room with NO noise. Pack your head in ice, put a cold cloth on your forhead and across your eyes and try to fall asleep!! Hopefully by the time you wake up your headache will be gone!
Another thing is that it could be allergies... try a benedryl for that. And try to take a Excedrine Migrane or Tylenol.. just to help out a bit!
If you have someone who would be willing to rub your temples and/or "play" with your hair as you fall asleep that will help "relax" you too!!
I hope you feel better soon!!

You are in for a lot of pain by not taking medication. The only thing that will help naturally without drugs is chiropractic treatment and massage therapy. I've enclosed a link where you can find a qualified chiropractor in your area .
For now apply ice pack to the back of your neck for ten minutes at a time. Do this frequently and this will possibly help reduce some of the pain.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy, YOG and Ayurved, but how can you manage pl see.
Acupressure for acute H/A works nicely. Search a painful point behind your thumb nail(any) three to 10 mm away. Press that point couragiously or ask others to do it; it will pain for a moment but H/A WILL DISAPPEAR WITHIN A FEW SECONDS!
You try one herbal remedy IF H/A IS CHRONIC - two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.

if headaches are a common problem with you, then you need to take a second look at what you are eating and how healthy you are. If you do not get the proper amount of fruits and vegetables, headaches can be a side effect. thats how you can mostly get rid of them for good, for rite now, I suggest drinking a glass of orange juice and eating something, but not something sugary, thats the last thing you want to do.

Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

this always works for me:
lie down
put a washcloth soaked in hot water on your head
every 20 minutes change to a cold wachcloth and then 20 minutes after that switch back to a hot washcloth..
it would help if u stayed lying down and had someone get the washcloths for you :-)

wrap two ice packs separately in small hand towels, lie down, place one under your neck and the other over your forehead. then pinch the soft flesh pad between your thumb and first finger as hard as you can tolerate for a few seconds. repeat as necessary. this works for me every time. hope you feel better soon.

use acupressure points about two inches from the elbow crease towards the wrist, and also behind the ears. you will find painful points there. press for seven seconds at a time and release. repeat as often as required.
