because somewhere else in the Bible it says that humans are the supreme beings on earth and should rape the rest of the planet (or something to that effect). so the Bible contradicts itself (big surprise) and people will just use whatever passage they want to justify their actions righteously.

Quite simple. God told man that the animals are for food. Esau was a mighty hunter. He did not hunt raspberries. The old Testament Jews sacrificed certain animals.

The commandment you quoted actually says thou shall not murder. There is a big difference between killing and murder.

Jesus himself said that their would be wars and rumors of wars. He even said that he had not come to bring peace but a sword. And too he mentioned about having enemies

NOT,

from strangers, but

WITHIN,

the household.

If I want state why should I not have a medium-well done stake of whatever type I desire since God says that it is alright and that protein is good for persons.

It got mixed up and should have read:

"Thou shalt not MURDER" - but some idiot misunderstood the text and now we've been stuck with it ever since.

Because if you look at it everything stands upon a platter for little old Earth - it's called a food chain including that of plants and even they take animal life for sustenance. We agreed to the game and thus we play the game - steak is good, pork tastes good and with a little garnishing, veges, fruit - its perfect, a meal to nourish you!

The commandment is "thou shalt do no murder", which is defined as lying in wait to do fatal harm.
Animals are put under the subjection of men for food (if they are an animal God sent for the intention of food - this does not include scavengers, because they are sent by God to clean the earth).
In addition, two main things are not considered as murder with regard to fellow
humans: one is self defense, or the defense of family and/or property
The other is wartime; also the defense of
family and property.

What do you plan to do when someone is breaking in your door with full intention of raping your wife and killing her and your children? Are you gonna speak kind words to them? perhaps serve tea? Grow up.

Because God said we can kill animals for food, I have many verses pertining to that, & as far as killing people, it all depends on what you are killing or. If it is a war,, God expects us to use common sense, To kill your enemy, But if we kill or self gain then it is called murder. let me leve a thought in your mind,since you want to use this word KILL. How many bugs have you killed with your car, Why do you cut a tree down, or eat vegatables, Those plants have a life, How many bugs have you step on & kill the,. Go outside & look at your car, I am sure you will find bug or 2 that you killed.

Believe it or not, the Bible was not written in English. The Hebrew says "thou shalt not murder." Now feel free to debate whether or not 'we' are murdering people and animals (personally, I have never killed a human or an animal, other than the unintentional murder of microscopic organisms).

Because unless you eat proteins youre not gonna last very long.

And when youre in a war with someone, and both sides are armed and fighting, theres nothing wrong with it.

To execute a murderer, is a just thing to do tho.

It acts as a thing that deterrs people from killing innocent people because they know they wont be able to get away with it.

~~~ ty,,,, I am a dietary vegan, atheist and amateur philosopher. Using the word "kill" is a misinterpretation of the word "murder". Life cannot sustain itself without the "taking of other Life". Death is a necessary circumstance of Earth Life. This is Tai Chi or Yin-Yang or The Tao,,, The Natural Balance of this Duality.
It is because if we did not kill something to eat, we would die. Even if we were vegetarians, we would have to kill plants in order to survive. Life feeds on life, it is a fact of life. Common sense.
I say its because, not every 1 believes in God and his Word, so although its a commandment its not going to be followed by all
