No, of course not...
May be things that we do in faith seems to be so stupid like what Abraham did, he even dared to sacrifice his son Isaac. And yet the Hebrew book which you're quoted is an anonymous book. No one in this world, the Christians, Theologists, priest can obviously decide who wrote the book of Hebrew. And we can say believing in book which no one knows the author is stupid.
However our mind has a limitation. There are things in this universe which science cannot explain. The law of physics has failed to describe many things, i.e. the origin of matter, the origin of gravity, and many other things. And biotechnology until now has never succeeded to prevent human from death - or resurrect any died life entity.
In inevitabilities such those, human need someone to rely on. And that one is God.
Faith is not dumb. Faith is an answer for questions that our logic has failed to solve. Being faithful is not a crime. Contrary, many good deeds are held by those who are committed to their faith, i.e. Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Muhammad Yunus, etc
And yet, doing good things are loss for our rational thoughts but gain for our faith

I think faith is a bad reason to believe in something. Nowhere else in your life do you believe something because of faith. In your daily life you require evidence to form conclusions about things. Not so with god belief. Faith has to be enough, because if you actually thought about god for a few minutes, you'd realize the whole concept is logically untenable.

No, having faith is not dumb. Here's what the Bible says about Faith.......
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
For all you out there who don't believe in God, or what the Bible says, I ask you this......what is the purpose for blowing out birthday candles, wishing on a star, or throwing a penny in a wishing well....if not for this very truth?
Making a wish and hoping it becomes a reality is called having FAITH.

I'm gonna be honest and tell you that I have only one faith.... FAITH IN MYSELF.. I don't understand how anyone can believe in something that you can't touch, smell or even see!!!!!! If you need to believe in something isn't yourself the best option!

This one is tricky
faith is good for the person believing.
But if god isn't real it's all a bit pointless
Say you go to heaven and god is real there are two likely scenarios
A. God sends believers to heaven and non-believers to hell
You could say "thats unfair, I have been taught all my life to not fall for tricks and there is just as much evidence that you don't exist" so he goes "well O.K. but you don't get full heavenly honours" (cuz he forgives u)
B. You go to heaven and god lets you in cuz your not a fool. and you dont beileve everything you read hear or see.

Faith is not dumb when based on knowledge.
Wishing is dumb.
But faith is not wishing.
Faith, in other circles is called conviction.
That word stems from 'convinced'.
Its all based on study and research ....or should be.

Self-delusion is not the same thing as lack of intelligence. It is, however, perhaps as harmful in taking a realistic perspective on matters.
