You know this is one of the things that everyone seems to forget, or not want to know about............................................

They are out there in your neighbourhood to deal with crime and those who commit it they also take part in other things as well ------- like dealing with the victims of a crime, when it has been committed, going to court ---- arresting criminals.............

They give up their lives ------ in crime incidents frequently, it amazes me that no-one knows how brave and giving they
really are.........................................................................................

Communities moan and groan about them, they are harrassed argued with called corrupt ---- but, the truth is
they do an important job out there crime fighting and
prevention is not an easy task they ---- are out there on
the frontlines of a war in which criminals take the lives
of victims and them......................................................................

Policemen and women are important to society because they
save lives often in the fight against criminals who steal, maim
and kill ---- they are out there in the community fighting against
these malignant scourges out there that commit crime all the
time................................................................................................

There is also a lot more to making a case than you think, they
spend time in court, are talented members of society in their
own right --- they don the uniform and in doing that they take
on one of the most difficult jobs in the world...............................

The communities out there should appreciate more what the
Police do for them, maybe then the fight against crime might
not be as hard a task as it is........................................................

This is not a man or women that just sits at a desk in an office
shuffling papers and typing on a computer there is a lot of hard slog and legwork that goes into policing --- if you do not
believe me just stop a policeman or women out there and ask
them to tell you all the good they actually do out there...............

Their jobs are one of the most unappreciated jobs in the world ------
they are 1 in a million for doing the job.......................................

Protect & Serve pretty much says it all. They protect us from the dangers of society (or as my husband refers to them "mutants"). They serve the community in ways that are too numerous to mention here. How often does a police officer receive a "thank you" vs a nasty comment? Rarely if ever. It is "assumed" that a police officer will always be there - regardless. When they are there, people say they are butting in or not doing their job. When they aren't there, then they are off at the donut shop. They live a no win life. What thanks do they receive for the sacrifices they make? Very little. They suffer; their families suffer; and often times they pay the ultimate price. I believe that a policeman's contribution cannot be measured unless you have walked in his/her shoes and seen what he/she sees. Only then do we have a clear picture of their contribution.

"Their jobs are one of the most unappreciated jobs in the world" I agree but there jobs are so unappreciated because all of those police officers out there who commit hate/racial crimes or any crime for that matter give the police officers who are actually doing there job a bad name. I have lost confidence in the police department where I live because alot of them (not all) let there personal life interfere with there work and they dont make very informed decisions. Three years ago the first people I would call if a crime was committed were police officers but just 2 years ago I had something bad happen to me and I put my trust in them and I will never forgive some of those police officers for what they did.

A policeman's role is to see that the rule of law is carried out so that your environment is as safe and well run as possible under the laws the police have to operate from.~~

Basically they just abuse their power and push people around when it's not necessary.
They enjoy treating everyone like **** because they think they have the power of God, and that because they have a badge and a gun that everyone in the world should bow down to them.
They are one of the only groups of people who refuse to give respect to anyone, but demand all the respect in the world for themselves.
