On average 5-6 months. If you are trying you may can shorten that time period. Go to pregnancy.com they will give you a detailed answer by age -vs- time on drug.

edit: okay buttheads try looking it up before you vote, damn non-medical morons. I work PRN in a fertility clinic---idiots!

There is no real data as to becoming immune to your birth control pills. If your concerned you could have an IUD placed They are as effective as having your tubes tied and do not cause the same issues as birth control. As far as getting pregnant after stopping the pill, its all a matter of your body could be days could be weeks or months or years no real way to tell.

its different for every woman but the website i'm a member of for woman trying for a baby the majority of women having trouble are the ones that have come off the pill, if you want to start trying for a baby the best thing to do is start monitoring your monthly cycle after coming off the pill and take pre pregnancy suplements

if you are starting trying for a baby you can join the website www.babyworld.co.uk
its full of women in the same boat whether they have been trying for a couple of months or a few yrs and if you have a question or just want a rant we are all there for each other

i think you will find if you actually read up on the subject that taking the pill for a long period of time WILL affect how long it takes you to become pregnant, i myself was on it for 10 yrs and after coming off took me 3 yrs to conceive my 1st child, every person is different and although it may happen straight away for some it also takes alot longer for others

i was on birth control pills for 5 years, came off, & got pregnant within three weeks. contrary to what most people think, the pill is out of your system within 24 hours of discontinued use. good luck :-)

You don't become immune to birth control. It is not an antibiotic. You can become pregnant right away. No matter how long you have been on birth control. You should have talked to your doctor before making changes.

Long following the practice of taking pills must be avoided.Still after that when you want to stop must consult to your personal docter about that. Its not hard but must not be taken so lightly, afterall its a matter of health.
