Cars, trucks to transport our food and other goods, planes, some clothing, computer parts, etc etc etc. Just like the rest of the world.
Are you really that clueless what uses petroleum has?

Don't worry, hansinchina, the people of China have now become the world's largest consumers of Petroleum, they may get their chance to go to war for petroleum too.

America produced 5 million barrels of oil a day, which is a lot but imports a further 12 million a day.
Americans consume a huge proportion of the worlds energy. The average American is on 11KW per year whereas other developed nations - Germany, Japan are on half of that. India runs on 0.5KW per person.

Even if as one said you drilled where the "tree huggers" stop you from drilling you would not be able to find enough oil under American soil to satisfy the greed shown by the SUV crowd and most of all big business. Europe is light years ahead in conservation and as long as you have an oil man for President the consumption will lead to wars all over the world just to feed America's and Canada's insatiable thirst for oil and gas.

Iraq hasn't had a legitimate government since 1991, so I can't see how the U.S. actually "went to war" with it. Anyways, the petroleum reserves of Iraq belong to the Iraqi people, and when their society finally stabilizes they can sell it to whoever they want.

psst...hey...careful, you shouldnt let your naivete show....most people in the know seem to think that al qaeda group has just a small amount to do with iraq. they dont really care much about the petroleum thing, they want you dead as they dont agree with most of the western religious and social philosophy. perhaps the pelosi play book forgot to mention that one...oh well. back to the drawing board. as your question makes no sense, it has no answer...sorry.

We as Americans our obsessed with pesonal lubricants(KY, etc) that's where all the oil is going, keeping the wheels oiled in the bedrooms of America!

It was because Iraq was going to start selling oil in euros rather than dollars which would have further weakened the dollar
