When our knowledge was much less than what it is now, it was so much easier to believe in Gods and an after life and all that religious stuff. Now though, in order to maintain faith, a certain level of denial and a limited exposure to knowledge that can weaken faith is necessary.

Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld."
True faith is not credulity, that is, a readiness to believe something without sound evidence or just because a person wants it to be so. Genuine faith requires basic or fundamental knowledge, acquaintance with evidence, as well as heartfelt appreciation of what that evidence indicates. Thus, although it is impossible to have real faith without accurate knowledge, the bible says that it is "with the heart" that one exercises faith, Rom 10:10.

people have faith in lots of things. some people have faith that if they lead a good life, they will make it to heaven. some people have faith that if they blow themselves up in a building full of Americans, then they will be rewarded in eternity. some people have faith that the human race came from a single-celled microorganisms that evolved over millions of years. some people have faith that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the way to heaven.
faith is putting your trust in something that you might not necessarily be able to prove. believing in something is knowing its there, whether the rest of the world agrees with you or not.

To have Faith is to believe without seeing. Remember what Thomas did, and what Christ said when Thomas saw Him AFTER the Resurrection and He appeared to them. Lets put it simple. IF you are married, Do You Have Faith in your Husband that he will not cheat on you every time he walks out of the house? if you do, that is a simple explanation of Faith, BUT with Christ IT IS much more.

To have faith is the start of journey and the quset for knowledge. It is the secure feeling that you are moving in right direction.
A small baby have faith in his father and mother when they play with him and throw in air even. He even smiles just because of faith in his parents.
We all do our doings in some faith and always expect something out of them.
I think faith is the formless feeling to be one with the ALMIGHTY

My son is going through some tough times now, but I have faith that he will come through it all right.
Do I know this for sure? Of course not. But I do know him, and I have faith in him.
That's good enough for me.
