No, Gazoo - God is a girl. His period simply ended at the "turn of the testament". Another one is on its way according to the bible-breathers. Time to open your umbrella because "the blood will be up to the horses' necks". YUCK!

These answers so far certainly display the confusion in the minds of many about the true reason for any religious belief.

Scholars, psychologists and sociologists have discovered in their research that HUMANS require a fulfillment of their "SPIRITUAL" needs, deep seated desires in order to live their lives in peace and satisfaction. These voids are filled with a realization that there has to be an omnipotent force that created everything. Some people call this force GOD.

Over the 80,000 years that this primitive need has exisited (before that humans had not evolved enough to question their existence)
hundreds of variations have been conceived, including the Greek version with many Gods, the Jewish and MUslin version with ONE God and the Christian version with THREE Gods or forces.

One that is gaining acceptance and prevents some of the bitterness and rivalry among human beings is that there has to be AN ARCHITECT OF THE UNIVERSE. The theory behind this is that the world and planets could not just APPEAR and that there had to be some great force that created everything, even the Big Bang which is often discussed as the beginning. The ARCHITECT version seems to me to be a satisfactory explanation which is NOT controversial or preferentia. It might even satisfy those folks in ANSWERS who seem to enjoy poking fun at this serious question.

He still hates sin and will punish all sin on Judgment day, you will find this in the New Testament. His commandments on how we are to live our lives are very clear and to be righteous or in right standing with God we must follow his commandments.
He gives every human a free will to choose right or wrong, to sin or not to sin, and he does warn sinners that they will be punished for transgressing his laws.
If a true Born Again Christian tells you that lying, stealing, fornicating, adultery, hatred, same sex marriage, abortion, etc. is wrong, don't blame us, we are only following God's way, he never changes.
His standards are very high, holy and just, unlike humans who love to sin and get angry when they are told they shouldn't sin.

I always like pointing this out to people. It was actually his PR people. They were all like 'Seriously, big G, you're giving people a hard time here, they dont really like it, you need to change your image, something a little more hippy, peace out, you know, get the funkiness back into things'.

So God smoked some marijuana and sent down Jesus. And his popularity went through the roof so I'd say it was a success.

"He placed all his wrath on his Son so that he didn't have to on us. Be thankful."

Woah woah, if you are a religious person, you need to watch out for things like this. Never say things that can obviously be misinterpreted. Because it sounds like your saying "Father abuses child as anger management" or "Violent father turns nice after venting anger on son". Bad image there.

Of course, why else would he go from loving ONLY the Jews to loving Everyone.

But, he made hell in the new testament, so he still has a bad attitude, just not a "destroy the whole world" kinda attitude :)

Well, let us be thankful that the fountain head of all Wisdom did put all His wrath on His only Son so that we may be saved. In this three dimensional life of ours, some truths are never fathomable. I suppose we will have to wait till we enter higher dimensions.....

Nah, he just started taking his anger out on his son instead. Poor little Jesus hasn't spoken to him since the "first incident", and now he refuses to ever go back to Earth.
