I have been to my gp regarding this, however he could not find anything wrong. It has been occuring more frequent recently behind my knee at the back of my leg. It can occur when sitting or walking.

This could be a sciatic nerve problem. I recommend you see a chiropractor as soon as possible. A chiropractor is better able to diagnose these types of problems as well as treat it. I've enclosed a link to a web site where you can find a qualified chiropractor in your area.
