The skin has to go through many stages in healing. The color will not look crisp or bright during the peeling stages since the outer layer (epidermis) is still a bit opaque from all that is going on to heal it - you can't see the color well. It really needs time to get back its normally transparent nature.

It never fails to amaze me how people who know absolutely nothing about tattoos don't hesitate to jump in with their ill conceived, ill informed, bias laden disnformation. This is somehting that should have been cpovered by your tattoo artist when they discussed aftercare assuming of course that you used a professional and didn't get maiamed by some home based scratcher in which case all bets are off. Your skin will go through several phases of healing including peeling. Just keep applying moisterizer, don't pick it and be patient. In several weeks it should look great. If, at that point you still see some weak or thin spots then visit your artist and discuss it with him which, candidly is what you should be doing now rather than posting on a forum and looking for advice from strangers.

Like previous posters have said..... give it some time. Think about how a snake looks dull and oddly-colored when it's shedding its skin. That's what your tattoo is doing while it's healing - layers of skin are peeling off. Black especially can look bluish or gray while healing. DO NOT have any more work done on a tattoo while it's healing. It may be 3-4 weeks before it's settled and fully healed and you know how it turned out.

Yes, you are seeing the new skin growing after your tattoo started healing. Give it a few more days and see if the color doesn't come back. What you're actually seeing is the scar with the ink under it. The scar will heal and the ink will show better.

No. This usually means the tattoo artist didn't go deep enough into your skin, and in extreme cases it'll sometimes wash off in the shower. Speak with whoever did your tattoo. They may want to give some time to let the healing process set, but they'll likely have to go over your tattoo again. In most cases, the artist will do this free of charge.

some times. the tattoo will scab and turn and that is normal. but sometimes the artist doesn't go deep enough and it have to be redone and they do do it for free. just wait and see
