Then how is it that we pay taxes on our incomes, purchases and things we own? Property owners pay taxes on the property they had bought. Then every quarter and every year they are required to pay school and property tax on the property that they own and then have to pay tax again on the sale of the property if they do not purchase new property with that money.

Also. I pay income tax. then I pay sales tax. If I purchase an used car, the original owner already paid a tax on it, I get taxed again for the purchase. (to me thats taxing the same car twice.)

I know that tax upon tax is tyrany and that to pay tax on the same item over and over agin is illegal according to our forefathers. That is why they created a repulic not a democratic government, but if you listen to our current government we are a democratic society, well last time I checked democratic menat that majority ruled. Our fore fathers made us a republic so that not even if 99% wanted to they could not tkae away the rights of even1% of the people. So in answer to your question yes it is illegal technicaly but most people do not even know it or understand it. They all believe that if the govenrment say it is so it must be so. Well lets go back in history. Why did the boston tea party happen? Why did so many people flee europe to get to america in the begining. Why did our fore fathers fight the british? To get out from underneath the tyranical leadership of england and it's obsurd taxes and laws. But guess what, their back and instead of it being a foreign government it's our own. Tea celebration's shameless declare is a fallacy. the reality is 95% of human beings will income with Obama's proposed taxation schemes. the rustic will nonetheless favor extra taxes to run the authorities. The so suggested as tax cuts for the unfavourable is a sham besides the indisputable fact that. In California the authorities. needs to collect extra taxes in each which way. The Federal authorities. needs to spend additional money to get the economy shifting contained in the right direction. Many economist have jumped into this bandwagon. If we favor to spend extra, then we favor to tax extra. as we communicate who can discover the money for to pay extra? only the wealthy. 95% of the inhabitants is tormented by the outcome of the cave in of the inventory marketplace, finance and authentic resources sector. Rampant unemployment weakened, stymied maximum if not the completed of global economy. No I'n not bothered through Obama's disinterest with the tax/tea celebration. increasing the tax burden of the different 5% of the inhabitants is amazingly American.

The constitution does no such thing. But if you're a liberal, and you HATE big business, and you are actually dumb enough to believe that Bush has given tax cuts to the rich and to BIG BUSINESS, you need to read this:
Corporations, and how their income can receive QUINTUPLE taxation or worse:
1--Corporation "A" is taxed on it's net profits.
2--Corporations pay dividends to shareholders who pay a dividend tax. If the shareholder is Corporation "B", they also pay a dividend tax.
3--Corporation "B" is taxed on all net profits, including dividends. When corp "B" pays out dividends on the dividends received, it's taxed again. If one of "B's" shareholders is Corporation "C", it is also taxed.
4--Corp "C" pays dividends to it's shareholders, including Corp "D".
5--you get the picture...
So the earnings from Corporation "A" are taxed every time they are transferred down through the chain. There's no limit to the number of times they can be taxed. The only limit is the diminishing amount being passed.
Congress has known about this for a VERY long time and has offered only partial relief in the "dividends received deduction" for corporations.
(Hey, I have an idea: what do you say you try to know what you're talking about next time you post one of these dumb questions?)

Count your blessings. In Canada, they pay Provincial AND Federal sales tax PLUS income taxes to BOTH. At least we don't have the Federal sales tax on most items. (Exception is for things like fuel and phone service, called "excise" taxes)

Sorry to break this to you Joe, but there is nothing in the Constitution that says you can't be taxed multiple times. And because the Constitution consciously creates a multi-tiered federal system, you can argue that it implicitly expects multiple taxes. After all, government isn't free. Please don't believe all the garbage that's put out on the internet.

Yes there is double/triple taxing on many things for example goods from say China are taxed when they enter the country in the form of customs and excise duty and import tax and then the consumer pays sales tax on top of the inlflated price. Also multiple authorities tax things eg gas prices include state and federal tax.
I agree, used goods shouldnt have tax on it, although if you make a profit on the sale of used goods eg you sell it for more than you bought it for you should have to pay tax on the profit. (Hard to enforce/detect/regulate though)
Next time you think twice about asking for a raise at work, just remember you need it for the tax man!

I don't think it would matter if it was in the constitution.
If you quote, carry or refer to the constitution you can be labeled a terrorist and put in jail and loose all rights.
It's even in the police training manuals of some states. I have seen others reference the same - but here is one I could find on short notice in the reference section below.
