Is this an abomination unto the Lord as well?

All sins are equal in the eyes of the Lord, right?

What if the two married fat people engage in gluttonous activities together?

If you argue that obesity could be due to genetics, many argue that homosexuality is genetic too, including scientists.

So not all fat people are genetically fat and perhaps not all gay people are genetically gay.

Is lack of sin a prerequisite to marriage, and if this is the case should anyone be married at all?

This is not intended to offend, just to make you think...

I don't make rules for marriage...I'm just pointing out inconsistencies in doctrine.

Ok Eric, "slothfullness" aka laziness is also a sin, so should lazy people not be able to marry?

Do you even understand what I'm trying to say?

Very good point. Once again a bright person has shown yet another example of religious "selective morality".

in the beginning, it incredibly is extra of a non secular question because of the fact as far as i understand politics and faith interior the western international have been divided because of the fact the middle a while. 2d, no longer all weight problems comes from gluttony. some human beings basically have one among those sluggish metabolism that the little foodstuff they eat in no way gets burned and provides to their fatty deposits, this means that no remember how little they eat, they are going to constantly be services to be somewhat fatter than maximum persons. that would not cause them to gluttons. persons, even whilst in the past they have been gluttons, whilst they attempt to drop some pounds they frequently are available in the process yet another problem interior the ideas. Their ideas now believes that their super weight is the suited weight and could try to maintain it, subsequently why crash diets frequently do no longer artwork, and this is not any longer those human beings's faults. Then there are people who must be fed to that length, like myself whilst i became a toddler, I had to be fed fatty formula milk just to maintain it interior my physique. the end result's that when i became a toddler and a baby, i became somewhat fat, even regardless of the undeniable fact that I no longer often ate something. i became easily no glutton and that i became fat returned then. so which you spot, fat would not inevitably recommend you're a glutton. howdy, i've got even seen skinny gluttons with a metabolic equipment that labored extra time. besides, if human beings have intercourse in the past marriage, are they no longer nonetheless allowed to marry?

the rules for what defines sin are highly subjective!! Remember the Catholics just announced theres no such thing as Limbo for kids that die without being Baptized!!

And I agree with genetically gay, genetically fat; I also believe in genetic mental illness, I am certain that genetic modification in the future will be available to prevent many things!! Now you have something to think about

why do we let people who get drunk get married? why do we let people that have already had sex get married? why do we let people that have lied get married? why do we let people who have cheated get married? why do we let people who have wanted something they couldn't have get married? why do we let greedy people get married? why do we let selfish people get married?...

must i continue?

picking gluttony (which is, in essence, love of anything in excess) is no different than any of the ones above.

for your specific example, it has to do with honoring and valuing something other than God as having a supreme place in their lives. creating an idol, if you will.

further, this is just a hunch, but are you referring to gluttony being a sin because it was listed by some monks a few centuries ago as a "deadly sin?" (the seven deadly sins aren't in the Bible after all...)

oh, one more thing... can ANYONE show me where homosexuality is an abomination? because i'm pretty sure THAT'S not in the Bible either... just a fundamentalist movement that has contorted Scripture out of context to fit their own meanings

Being obese really has nothing to do with marriage.
If we do overeat, it is up to us to modify our habits,
And in this time of the end, when peoples health is at an all time low, many are unable to exercise.
some are obese because of a breakdown of their own internal system. its not their fault.
But we do have God's promise to look forward to;
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

You are mixing Biblical law with federal law. The Bible does not say homosexuals should not marry. It says it is an abomination. And yes, gluttony is an abomination too; as well as incest and eating food dedicated to idols. However, The federal government is not debating any of those "freedoms" at this time. If the voters get enough signatures though, maybe fat people. Buddhists and hillbillies will lose the right to marry. That way everyone will be on equal ground.

Many say that gays shouldn't marry because they can't have children. Using that argument, you could say that barren women should not marry either.
How about atheist? I don't even believe in a God. Does that mean that I shouldn't be allowed to marry?

Some sins are 'more equal' than others in the eyes of religious folks.

Because sin doesn't exist in reality, marriage does.

just because a person is fat does not mean he/she is a glutton

gluttony refers to the obsession with something, yes, most of the time it is food, alcholics are also gluttons, those with gambling problems are gluttons, they are slaves to their addictions, and allow those addictions to control their lives

some people are fat becase they dont eat properly and dont exercise enough

if they were gluttonous in their eating, then that is all they would be doing

homosexuality is choice (in my book), the whole genetics argument is bubkus

no person can be without sin except for Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins
