Jesus main teaching was that, you as an individual, can have a relationship with God personally. Most of the religions at the time, and many today, believe that you must use a church as an intermediary on your behave.
Mary of the Catholics is used or thought to be such a intermediary. Jesus is thought to be an intermediary by some Christian Church's, but the main idea is that you can eat the body of Christ and drink the blood of Christ without organized religion.
You can have the relationship without the Priest, The Governor or the Minister. (This is a revolutionary idea!) Jesus is covered in controversy over this issue. This is the issue that got Jesus Sacrificed.
The officials at the time of Jesus wanted him dead because they thought Jesus would be forgotten by his death, but they were, oh so, wrong! Jesus knew this of course and put himself in the position of being sacrificed for no real reason other than making God be a human for the time he was on earth. The sacrifice is a personal gift to you and me and everyone.
Jesus was a man until his dieing moments when he transformed into an Angel for his Father. Was Jesus a Christian? No! Jesus was a way, a road, a vision of God's love. Jesus was God in the flesh!

It appears Christianity is a religion based on Jesus teachings and the Hebrew Oral traditions contained in the Old Testament. However, it appears that Jesus seems much kinder and forgiving then the mortal humans who built religions around THEIR personal interpretations of what this Wise Teacher taught. However, I am not knocking Christians or Muslims if their personal behavior is Christ like. Peace

No. He was a Nazarene.

The Nazarenes, were a breakaway sect of the Essenes.

Paul of Tarsus created christianity.

Paul of Tarsus (St. Paul) and Joesphus ben Matthias (St. Luke) worked for the arch-enemies of the Nazarenes, the Sadducee High Priest family of Ananus (also sometimes called Ananias).

They created Christianity for people outside of Jerusalem and Galilee to deliberately corrupt the true message of Jesus.

Thankfully, some of his message got out through the gnostic gospels.

Also, this is why there has always been a huge yawning gap between (a) the words of jesus (b) the behaviour of christian leaders and the organized church. That's because they have always been completely different.

He went to the water, and his cousin baptized him. The Spirit came down, and onto him. From then on he was a Christian. John preached repentance, he was not a Christian. Jesus preached forgiveness, like only a Christian can. When Jesus left, that spirit came down, and onto people we call Christians. They never accused anyone of anything, and taught other people to forgive. That trail of forgiveness, is the spirit filled path that Christians walk through the ages. It was, and is the spirit of the shepherd. Christian=shepherd: sinner=sheep. Christians are leaders.

Jesus was a Jew. The Jews in Jesus' time who believed that Jesus was the promised messiah became "Christians", because they believe in Jesus' teachings.

By the way, Jesus is the Jewish messiah. Old Testament prophecy of Jesus' passion for our sins.
"But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed." Isaiah 53:5

No. Jesus was born into the nation of Israel (Judaism) to Mary. His lineage (thru his mother and his adoptive father) can be traced all the way to Adam. (Mt 1:1-16; Luke 3:23-38) Once his ancestors agreed to exclusively worship God at Mount Sinai, they (and their children) became dedicated to him. (Ex 19:5,6; 1 Kings 8:53; Ps 79:13)

He was the things that all men should try to be. And some of the disciples founded the church on his teachings, but no he was not a Christian because the actual church had not been created until after his death. He was just the son of man I suppose.

Jesus was a Jew, and we are Christians because we have Christ in us, there for we are Christians. Our Bodies are suppose to be the Temple of God, So Christ Lives in us. So Jesus Christ probably was the first Christian Jew, because he was the Christ, there for Christ was in him, but he was born a Jew, so he was probably the first Christian Jew. To Be a Christian you must have asked Jesus Christ to come into you and be your Savior and lead your life, and make you what he wants you to be, Forgive you of your sins and Be with you always, and Christ said that our bodies are the Temple of God so Christ lives in all who are Christians.

No! He was a Jew! How could he be a Christian? Nobody says he did anything other than what every child in Palestine at the time did to be a good Jew...that qualifies him to be a Jew. Now what qualifications does he have to call himself a Christian? Did he follow Christ? No.

He was the start of Christianity, so I guess the answer would be Yes.
